Vehicle Detail
1974 CB750K for sale - Sunrise Flake Orange. Approximately 25,6XX miles. Bike is mostly original and extremely clean. No rust and chrome is in great shape. Bike also has original HM341 exhausts and tool kit. Clean, NY title. In the past two years the following work has been done to ensure the bike starts and runs well. All work was done with the goal of updating the bike but ensuring it retained its authenticity and originality. --New OEM fork seals and gaiters --New Progressive front springs --Replaced old fuses and box with new "Hondaman" bladed fuse box and fuses (no more glass fuses) --New tires (Bridgestone Spitfire S11) --New O-Ring Chain --New battery --New Dyna tek electronic ignition --Rebuilt rear wheel with new spokes (on original DID rims) and replaced rear wheel bearings --New rear brake brake shoes --Replaced sealed beam headlight for a halogen H4 bulb --Replaced starter motor and starter clutch with Honda OEM parts. All mechanical work was done by a professional mechanic that specializes in vintage motorcycles (Solomoto in Greenwich, CT). I have all receipts as well as my own written records of most oil changes and work done. Prior owner had the tank and side panels professionally painted and represented that carbs were refurbished. Prior owner also installed a Carpys SOHC Frame Adapter Kit so the engine top end can be accessed without removing the entire engine from the frame. As you can see from the condition of the bike, I'm a bit fanatical and meticulous. I'm also upfront and honest, so here are what I view as the imperfections: I have Honda OEM pucks and gaskets (including a new, OEM Honda valve cover gasket) to address a slight weeping above the head gasket on the right corner of valve cover, but below the valve cover gasket. I bought these parts but never installed since it is so minimal (only shows after riding an hour or so and requires a slight wipe with a glove finger). The amount hasn't changed over during my entire ownership. Parts are included so it's up to you whether and when to replace. There is a very slight wrinkle in the front fender (see photo) and some pitting on the right turn signal stem (see below - replacements included in sale). Also, sometimes the neutral light stays on but always gets brighter going into neutral - the wire is shorting on the frame somewhere but I'm too lazy to fix even though it's an easy fix. It's intermittent and the light still works to let you know when you are in neutral. The bike is also 40+ years old and does evidence some patina on the gauges and mirrors. Oil changes were done approximately every 1,000 miles or less. New oil filter every other change. I only use Spectro oil which has more Zinc which these engines need. Bike always stored and covered indoors with battery hooked up to a tender. For the Buy it Now price, the sale will include several other parts. I will throw into the sale a brand new, never opened Carbtune tool to vacuum synch the carbs, replica front turn signals with stems (the prior owner installed larger, later year turn signals), touch up paint, various engine covers, oil filters, several quarts of Spectro engine oil (best for these engines due to Zinc content), the definitive "Hondaman" manual, and other tools and items. For less than the Buy it Now price the sale will only include the replacement front turn signals, and the parts necessary to replace the pucks and gaskets. The bike is also for sale locally and I reserve the right to terminate the auction. Bidders with low or negative feedback should contact me before bidding. A non-refundable deposit of $500 is due within 48 hours. The remainder of the price can only be paid cash in person within 7 days of auction unless other arrangements are agreed in advance of auction end. Feel free to contact me with any questions. Buyer pays for shipping but I will do my best to assist. Bike is sold "as is", with no warranty express or implied. Good luck and happy bidding!!
