1959 was the last year of the big Horsepower for Oldsmobile until the muscle car era would arrive, it was also the last time Oldsmobile won the Daytona 500, with Richard Petty at the wheel of his 1959 Olds Dynamic 88 Hardtop he won by only a fender length. The 371 Cubic Inch Motor was known for it's big horsepower and even bigger torque. The Oldsmobile Dynamic 88 for 1959 had fins that started atop the front fenders and rose as they went to the back in rocket-shaped appendages. The Oldsmobile designers called it the 'Linear Look' and was an extreme departure shape from its highly chromed 1958 predecessor. This Dynamic 88 is powered by the standard 371 cubic-inch 'Rocket' V8 engine and fitted with an optional four-speed 'Jetaway' Hydra-Matic transmission and optional two-tone paint.My car for sale is in good condition. Paint is not professionally done, but looks very good. The interior needs to be redone (new headliner, windlace, etc.) Door panels are decent, but not immaculate. The back seat is amazing in that it is the original upholstery and is very good condition. I have a lot of spare trim parts and have most all of the original chrome pieces that are not on the car currently. I have original owner's manual, which is part of the auction.The engine purs and runs great! Minor little rust spots, but nothing major.Car is in California and winner must arrange for delivery or pickup. No warranties and sold as-is.
