Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a nice example of a 1982 Porsche 911 SC, color is original "Wine Red Metallic" To get started I want to state a few things: 1. First and foremost I reserve the right to remove this listing if my reserve is not achieved at any time as I am selling locally as well and have some considerable interest already.2. This vehicle is being sold as is. I will provide all info I can. Ask any questions you have or come take a look at it BEFORE you bid. Please read the whole ad and ask me anything. I have way more pictures and also a video walk around all taken Sunday February 26th 2017. The vehicle is parked in downtown Minneapolis Minnesota in an underground heated garage. (10 minutes from MSP international airport) Ok! So this beautiful car runs as good as she looks! The previous owner was a bit older and used this car as a weekend racer for over 10 years (the last few it just sat) He did some work to keep it running in good shape which includes recent head work (do not have details or paperwork on this.) I currently have a clear title and am ready to transfer to the highest bidder! I recently put over $1,500 into this car which included a synthetic transmission flush (works great!) fixing of some oil leaks and some dash work. The previous owner messed with the tachometer and in doing so somehow caused the odometer/speedometer not to function properly (hence the super low mileage) I took it to a Porsche shop to have it fixed and working properly. Now all dash gauges work along with speedometer and odometer. The mileage was never adjusted in any way, it also comes with a clear Minnesota title. The body is straight and has all original paint, because it's older and used on a track it does have a few small scuffs, road rash to the front and light dents, but from 10 feet away it looks showroom nice!!! But being a Porsche it isn't perfect. The interior is pretty nice but the front seats are worn and dash peeled up a bit and probably needs some love. The previous owner put 5 point harnesses on both sides along with a bar that I don't use because it has regular seatbelts that work. He also installed a fire exstigusher. Here is the good things:Runs and drives as it should, clutch and transmission function properly, engine runs properly, power windows and mirrors work flawlessly, heat works well. All original paint that shines well but has a lot of road rash on front. Tires are all in good shape. Here are a few issue items:Sunroof tries to open but catches on the passenger side, should need oil or maybe more. There is a light dent on the lower part of the left bumper along with rear right bumper. The previous owner also used black zip ties to help secure the front bumper (maybe something for racing???) The a/c does not work, if it had it at any time it doesn't anymore, the heat does work and the air blows well. The older cassette player doesn't work. The oil light comes on, the pressure is correct as I had it tested at the Porsche shop and they ordered a sensor to fix the issue (but forgot to put it in) I have the sensor which comes with car but not installed. The wheels are straight and look good from afar but they are peeling and will need to be refinished or replaced, I drive with them as-is but I'm sure a new owner would prefer to refinish them. The tailgate has a smaller dent and behind that was pushed in about 1/2 inch which the previous owner filled with some kind of foam. I also have Receipts for $1,500 worth of work that I will include. Please call, text or email for questions or if you want more pictures. My reserve is far lower than the average selling price of these cars. I am looking to sell it and would like to find a good home. Thanks! (703)987-5115Tony On Mar-03-17 at 09:42:55 PST, seller added the following information: Update:I've had a few questions over oil pressure. Probably due to the oil sensor that isn't installed. I wanted to note two things 1. I have service work completed at a good shop and can provide the number to anyone who is interested to validate engine pressures are correct. 2. I took a video today (3/3/17) of the engine starting and running at 5,000 rpms. The oil pressure gauge works and reads between 4 and 5. I can provide this video to whomever would like to see it. I have also updated with a "buy it now" price. I have 2 standing offers locally but will continue to see where this auction ends. I intend to sell to the highest eBay bidder if it reaches my price. Buy it now is at a very reasonable $23,000. Regards. Tony
