Vehicle Detail
1968 Chevrolet Camaro 396 Specifications: Year: 1968 Make: Chevrolet Model: Camaro 396 Color: Red Miles: Vehicle Description 1968 CHEVY CAMARO SS-396 CloneOriginal V8 Car The Camaro was built in direct response to the ever so successful Mustang. It was just in time because the diehard Chevy Lovers almost had no choice but to hop into the Mustang and change their brand loyalty. In late 1966 the Camaro debuted and was an instant hit supplying more horsepower and a more sleeker look. With the debut of this car, even though symbolic in its own right, marked the beginning of the pony car wars. Even to this day, the Camaro and Mustang are rivals and you won’t catch one or the other NOT in the stable of any advocate or beginner car collector. These Camaros came out of the box with basic v8 power, but it didn’t take long for GM to start shoe horning the frame twisting big blocks in the Camaro line up. Once that happened, the Camaro ruled the roost for the affordable muscle car competition and buyer. Please read on to find out what makes this muscle car so special. Let us know of any questions you may have and thank you for visiting. Exterior: As you see from the pictures this car presents very well. It was restored years ago and the paint shows plenty of luster. The body along with all the floors, frame and pans are solid. Up close you can nitpick a little but you couldn’t build this for the price we are asking. The chrome and bright work is shiny and in excellent condition as is all the glass free from damage. It has a steel cowl hood that shows that this Camaro is more than just looks. Also, after market torque thrust wheels and raised white letter tires were added to enhance the appearance. We would call this vehicle a driver to a local show stopper. It will also stand tall at any cruise night. You won’t win any concourse judging with it. Please look at the pictures and let us know if you have any questions. Interior: The interior is show quality. It has been restored and presents very well. The seats look excellent showing hardly any wear. The headliner and carpets are in excellent condition. All the gauges work as they should. The dash and door panels are in excellent condition and show little to no wear. Please view the pictures and let us know of any questions you may have. Drive-train: This vehicle came from the factory as an original small block v8 car. It was then fitted with a date coded 396/325 horse big block. Married to TH400 3 speed transmission. Someone took the time to make sure this install was done properly. The car is extremely powerful and sounds awesome. It runs and drives great and all belts, hoses, tires and brakes are road worthy. The car does not have power steering. Please let us know of any questions you may have. In summation – Investing into your next collector car needs to have the right ingredients to withstand any economy. The Camaro was a game changer in automotive history which will always be significant to this car. It has the right power (numbers matching or not) and is affordable. Which means, any enhancements will add to its value. Please let us know of any questions or call us to set an appointment to come see.
