1974 BRICKLEN SV-1 Specifications: Year: 1974 Make: BRICKLEN Model: SV-1 Color: WHITE Miles: Vehicle Description 1974 Bricklin SV-1 #760 of 2854 Low Production Collector Car!3384 Miles You are viewing a 1974 Bricklin SV-1. Sometimes the story is greater than the vehicle. Let’s look at DeLorean…..John DeLorean’s cars were somewhat unreliable, under powered and over-priced, but the story behind DeLorean and the guts he had to compete with the big 3 makes that car very collectible. Well the story behind Malcom Bricklin the creator of this SV-1 is just the same. However, his cars were safer (SV = Safe Vehicle), more powerful and some could say he paved the way for “going against the grain”. His design, much like the DeLorean made quite a statement. It had a futuristic look, it was safe, but was powered by American Muscle. In 1974, the Bricklin was powered by the 360 AMC V8. Which could easily be modified with more powerful performance parts. Ingredients that make a car collectible, are low production numbers, great look and design and v8 powerful. But when you’re lucky, you have a great story behind it, which fortunately this car has. Please read on to find out the condition of this vehicle. It is a project car. Exterior: First let us start off by saying this is a project. The body is in very good condition and it has been sitting in storage for years. Parts and literature have been collected and go with the car. It has the original body and there is some minor cracking in the fiberglass. Bricklins had 5 mph shock absorbing bumpers for added safety. The wheels are original and all the glass is good. Over all, the car’s exterior needs attention but is very workable and has no rust. The gullwing doors need piston repair to make them stand up but two more are included. Clean it up and use it as a driver or strip it and paint it doing some minor repair work. Please let us know of any questions you may have. Interior: The interior has actually held up through the years and the seats have been protected with seat covers. However, the interior needs to be cleaned and freshened up. Everything is intact but needs going over. Bricklins had an integrated roll cage for safety. The car shows only 3384 miles and the title reflects the same. Please look at the pictures and let us know if you have any questions about this project car. Drive-Train: The engine is the 360 AMC v8 that has some performance parts. There is some extra wiring under the hood that needs to be gone through. The car does not run. The motor is free. This vehicle was taken out of a collection and it was an all or nothing purchase. So we took all, not knowing anything about certain vehicles, this being one. There are extra parts and boxes of repair manuals and literature and magazines. Please let us know of any questions you may have. In summation, this vehicle could be an easy fix to a full blown restoration project. That would be up to you. What you do have is a rare find, low production sports car with an American V8 power-plant. Please let us know of any questions you may have. ONLY 2854 BRICKLINS WERE EVER PRODUCED!! More parts included that are not pictured. Car was originally from TX but is now located in NJ.
