Vehicle Detail
For sale is my 1968 Chevrolet Impala that was bought new at Pennington Chevrolet Co.,Inc. Mocksville NC and still resides in NC 10 miles from original purchase site. Car was parked in 1994 when the original lady owner was placed in nursing home. Inspection sticker (1994) states mileage at 27198 at that time. I purchased the car from the daughter. With the equipment that was ordered from the factory, it is a wolf in sheeps clothing. Car comes with the high compression 327/275 HP engine, 3 speed Turbo Hydra-matic Transmission, factory wide wheels, factory dual exhaust. There has been one repaint. These 327 engines were under rated in the HP rating with the HP @ 300 or more. Car is a time capsule that will take you back to 1968 the moment you sit behind the wheel. Engine sounds amazing, transmission shifts excellent, everything works, very good condition on the underside, paint has some imperfections where the daughter had boxes sitting on the hood and trunk lid. The car has been parked for the last 22 years. All of the original paper work is with the car including the Protect-o-Plate, buyers Car Invoice, Owners Manual, salesman's business card and original plastic envelope. This is a nearly 50 year old unrestored car. Thanks and good luck On Sep-27-16 at 05:41:26 PDT, seller added the following information: As noted in the original paperwork, this is a high compression 327/275 hp engine. I looked a little further and found the head casting #'s because the markings on the heads were one I did not recognize. The casting #s are 3947040......that # and the right angle marking on the heads denotes as stated on GM website as a very rare head that has all the same characteristics as the double hump( valve size, closed chamber) and was listed as a very good HP head also used on the 302 engines. Not your typical grocery hauler!
