2001 Saleen S281 SC speedster #643 1 of 2 Triple White Saleen speedsters built! Magazine feature car and calendar car. Must be seen and driven to be fully appreciated! This 2001 supercharged Saleen started out as a stout 365hp car. It has since been professionally transformed into a true performance car with almost double the power, and all of the supporting hardware needed. It was sold new at American Ford in Bloomington, MN. It included Saleen base components such as: •Saleen inter-cooled supercharger •Borla mufflers and cat-back exhaust system •Saleen twin gauge pod (boost & intercooler temp) •Saleen front & rear fascia •Saleen side skirts •S281 wing •Full Racecraft suspension •18” wheels •Saleen white faced gauges/ 200mph speedo •Etc. They are one of the premiere modular engine builders, and hold many modular motor racing titles. The engine includes: •Rebuilt original supercharged long block •Bored .20 over to 284c.i. •New Cobra crankshaft •Cobra oil pump / pick up tube •Diamond +20 – 19cc ceramic coated forged pistons / Diamond rings •Manley H beam rods w/ ARP 2000 bolts •Fed Mogul Main bearings •Fed Mogul Rod bearings •ARP main studs #ARP156-4101 •Comp Cams XE270AH •Manley valve springs •Valve job and new valve seals •Engine was washed, bored, honed, balanced and assembled by Modular Performance •Built to handle well over 1000hp! Transmission: •ProMotion built Tremec 3650 •New bearings, synchros, seals, small parts kit, fork pads •Ford TSB + beefy forks •68% overdrive •Built to ProMotion Performance race spec and precision shimto handle 1000hp During the build and installation, only the highest quality and performance parts were used such as: •Chicane RIPP cold-air intake •Accufab polished 75mm throttle body •Upgraded intercooler pump •BBK ceramic coated Long tube headers •BBK X pipe •NX Nitrous wet kit retrofitted to run alcohol through “fuel solenoid” •Snow Performance methanol kit (used only with nitrous) •Innovate air/ fuel gauge •MGW shift handle/ Saleen carbon fiber shift knob •Saleen EXTREME heat extractor composite hood Additional info: UPR tubular front k-member for significant weight savings and improved handlingMiata battery for weight savings / Saleen composite hood for weight savings and heat extraction Rear wheels have been widened from 10" to 12 1/4 ' by Weldcraft. for added traction. They are now fitted with BFG 345/30/18 Drga Radials. All installation / fabrication work was done with help from APS in Shakopee, MN. Car looks completely factory stock inside and out. It is fast, but drives like a stock car. Any buttons, switches, etc. are either out of sight or use factory locations. The only power limiting component is the stock Saleen supercharger. Before the engine build, the blower made 13psi boost. After the engine build it makes 8psi. This is a testament to both how well the engine flows now, and the limited abilities of the stock Saleen supercharger. This Saleen is unbelievably reliable and fast the way it sits. The sky is the limit with a bigger power adder, as the supporting hardware is all there. This Saleen has never seen rain or snow, and it is kept in climate controlled storage over the winter. It has been meticulously maintained, and looks new inside and out. I have the original Saleen manuals, window sticker, receipts, and engine build documentation.
