Vehicle Detail
This is really a one owner car. It was leased new by my father in Santa Barbara at Perry Ford Lincoln. When the lease was over my father purchased it from the dealer. In 2007 my father could no longer drive ,and signed the car over to me. After that, I put less than a 1000 miles a year on it taking him to where he needed to go. With the exception of a new set of original manufacture Michelin H series tires, and a new Interstate battery all maintenance was done at Perry Lincoln MercuryI would drive forty freeway miles every two to three weeks to put some miles on it.. And I would drive it whenever I went out of town. The rest of the time the car sat in the garage under the car cover with the battery maintainer hooked up. Lincoln dealer would send me a coupon every year, and I would take it to them for a oil/filer lube change and an inspection. It had dealer maintenance whenever the schedule called for it. Mechanical and physical condition is very good. My father died which is why I am selling the car. It drives like and cosmetically like a new car. If you would like to view the Carfax, the Build Sheet, the owners manual and lots more pictures please go to www.620113.com This model was originally created in the late 90s to compete with European sport sedans. The Continental has the same 32 valve, dual overhead cam, 275 horsepower engine that Ford put in the Jaguar. They also used an aluminum block version of this engine in the 01 Cobra. However, this car was designed for the way Americans drive which is on freeways, and interstates. It is a great, powerful, comfortable, luxury freeway cruiser. With only 57300 miles on it is just broken in with many miles still left on it. There are only two mechanical issues that I am aware of; Transmission gasket seal has a very tiny leak. It has been then for years. It doesn’t leave any real mess and I thought I would fix it by replacing the gasket when it was time to service the transmission. The last time I took it to Perry Lincoln they told me there is a split on the driver’s side ball joint rubber boot cover. The ball joint itself is fine but eventually that would have to be replaced. This Continental is front wheel drive which results in More leg room because there is no transmission tunnel down the center of the interior Better gas mileage because there is no heavy drive shaft, and differential Excellent control in rain, ice, and snow because you have more control when you pull something rather then push it This Lincoln has both front ,and side airbags and four wheel disk brakes, reactive suspension, computer controlled ABS brakes, and Traction control to keep you out of trouble in all weather conditions. The performance engine uses premium gas and I get 15=17 mpg in the city and between 20-22 mpg on the freeway at a steady 65mph. Luxury leather interior ,with floor mats Cruise control, Adjustable wiper control, Adjustable steering wheel Folding arm rests with storage compartments and two power stations available LED instrument display with systems check Electric windows, electric locks, electric review mirrors, garage door button Auto day night mirrors and headlights.
