I recently purchased this car as part of a package deal to buy a 1959 Fleetwood that I've wanted for a long time. The cars were sitting, covered, in a warehouse (dry, heated storage) in Detroit for the last 14 years. I sent this one to a local classic car expert and had him go through the car to make sure that it's ready for the road. He replaced the fuel tank and flushed the lines, rebuilt the rear end (pinion seal was leaking), had the heads rebuilt, installed a new battery, replaced the wheel (brake) cylinders and did a full tune up (changed the oil, replaced the cap & rotor, changed air and fuel filters, etc.). The car itself is in great shape and drives nicely. It shows 89k miles and I believe that to be original. The paint is decent and all of the trim is there and in good shape. It even has working air conditioning. From what I've learned this is a factory "limousine" by Cadillac that provides an extended wheelbase, offering much more room in the back. The car would be great for restoration or restomod, or drive it as-is for personal or professional use. Haggerty values this car in #3 (Good) condition at $19,800. From what I can tell, the front license plate (shown) is from when it was last sold at the RM Auction in Novi, MI in 2002.
