I HAVE TRIED TO BE COMPLETE AND HONEST IN DESCRIBING THIS CAR IF THERE IS ANYTHING YOU FEEL I HAVE NEGLECTED OR MISSED PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!!================================================= 1984 CRX 1.3 liter gas miser, EPA 67mpg Hwy!! This is one of the rarest CRX's you will ever find. First of all, it is one of the earliest production examples which is still surviving, having rolled off the line during September 1983 as the 1,770th CRX made! Secondly, its one of the very few examples which were equipped with the 1.3 liter motor, which PRE-Dates the legendary HF model... Honda took painstaking efforts to reduce the internal friction in this engine and employed many unique features which enabled it to achieve more than 70mpg in several published road tests! No other gasoline, Non-hybrid fueled car has ever equaled or surpassed this car in outright fuel efficiency. This particular example has miraculously survived almost 33 years without having become a victim to the normal Honda Rust issues. The floors, rocker panels, and suspension attachment areas which typically rust out on these cars are solid on this car. There is a very small spot of rust, smaller than a dime which is starting to show through on one of the rear fender panels, and that's the worst of it. THIS CAR IS A PRIME CANDIDATE for a full restoration and preservation regimen, due to this fact. After I found and purchased the car several years ago, I locked it away in storage and just took it out late last year to begin working on the plastic panels. At this point I have repaired or replaced all the plastics on the car, and the car doesn't look bad at all, although it should be repainted if you want it to look its best. The plastic panels on the car have all been repaired and primed in white primer, ready for a final coat of white paint. The lower rocker panel plastics and door panels and bumpers have been resprayed in metallic silver, and the car has a new set of 13" wheel covers which really add to the overall appearance!, At current values of good plastic panels for these cars ($200+/fender, $150-200 for rocker panels, $100-200 for lower door panels, and $100-200 for a good header panel the car has at LEAST $1000 OF VALUE IN JUST THE PLASTIC PANELS ALONE!! The car WILL require additional restoration and repair work to make it ready for the road. Some items which I have identified include - weak brakes, possibly needs a new brake master cylinder and/or booster- Air Conditioning (has not been tested, but all the parts are there)- tail pipe. The main exhaust pipe is there from the header back to the main pipe, but the rear muffler that goes in back behind the fuel tank has rusted and fallen off and needs to be replaced.- Current radio is very old and should be replaced along with speakers- possible outer tie rods or wheel bearings, - the thermostat housing is dripping coolant and it should get a new thermostat and gasket.Currently, the car does start and run and it DOES IDLE without quitting.!! The carb is basically OK.I have test driven the car IN MY DRIVEWAY ONLY. I DO NOT SUGGEST TRYING TO DRIVE THE CAR HOME.ADDITIONALLY, The car is being sold with the original blue seats and interior that it came with. However, I DO HAVE another blue interior from a lower mile '84CRX that I parted out (due to rust that had gone too far) and I AM willing to give the buyer a complete extra blue interior, which includes BOTH SEATS WITH NO TEAR OR RIPS, and Good condition door panels, as well as the complete rest of the interior...
