Vehicle Detail

For Sale 1957 Continental Mark II . Just out of storage this spring after sitting in a building for 30 some years. This is one of 444 Continentals built by the Ford Motor Company's Continental div. in 1957. A total of 3000 were built in 1956 and 1957 before production was ceased. These iconic luxury vehicles were priced around 10,000 dollars, a price that only the wealthy could afford back then. This car is just like the one Elvis had and cherished with the white exterior and black & white interior with air condition. the AC in this car is not working. After obtaining this car, some work and new parts was done to get it running and driving. The engine starts right up and runs smoothly (no smoke),the transmission shifts well and the brakes are now working. The body is straight with no signs of rust or filler or previous accidents. The frame is rock solid with only surface rust from sitting. The floors and trunk are solid as well. The glass is good with the exception of the passenger door window being cracked but works well. The passenger side power vent window and rear glass is not functioning just makes a noise. The power seat works with a little help, probably needs the track lubed. The lights and turn signals all work. The gauges and tack work with exception of the amp gauge. The interior will need some attention, the front seat is good but has a seam split in driver seat. the rear seat bottom is cracked and will need recovered the upholstery is all real leather. The headliner is good and the dash is good also. This car is a great candidate for restoration, and would command a good price when done. Please contact me for more details if you have questions at 309-251-2172 any time 7am-10pm central time. I retired and usually available . Sorry NO International sales On Jul-22-16 at 15:44:16 PDT, seller added the following information: This car was a garage find and has not been on the highway for many years. Work was done to get it running. We drained and cleaned the gas tank, removed and cleaned the carb, all new brake cylinders and brake lines as needed, new coil and solenoid, fixed ignition switch, changed the oil, checked out the transmission and rear end, drove it a short distance. But things like belts, hoses, tires were not replaced therefore I recommend this not be driven for long distances as some people have asked. Just a good solid car that needs to be taken to the next level. I HAVE LOWERED THE RESERVE PRICE. NEED THE ROOM FOR A COUPLE OF ONGOING PROJECTS.
