Vehicle Detail
Your looking at a rare JDM 1991 Toyota SERA, RHD. Just arrived from Japan under the 25 year rule. In excellent rust free condition, interior is mint, underbody is mint, and just 76,000 miles. Registered in Connecticut, and due to age, sold on bill of sale as CT doesnt issue titles to cars 25 years or older. ! owner in Japan, now with classic CT plates. Fantastic and funky Swing up 'butterfly' doors. McLaren F1 designer Gordon Murray stated he design the McLaren F1 doors on the Sera after seeing them in action. They only need 17 inches to fully open. We use a enclosed trailer and can fully open these doors in it. Comes with the standard high compression 1.5 litre motor the conversion importers lust after, with a close ratio 5 speed gearbox. Only 1 in 4 or 5 Sera's were 5 speed, the rest were autos. This car also has the hard to find dashboard cup holders, and lace seat covers, and rare for 1991 a CD player. These cars appeared at the Tokyo motor show as a prototype and decided to build exactly how the prototype was. Not many were made, hard to find and once you own it and drive it you start to love it. Just drove it to a Micro car event in MA and it got all the attention. Wikipedia has all the information on the Sera here; wiki/Toyota_Sera Please feel free to ask any questions, Drive it home. These were one of the first cars to have projector beam headlights Test drives welcome but to avoid the joy-riders I'll ask to see $7500 in cash or cashiers check before letting anyone just come and drive it. If you dent it you own it. These have the modest 110-bhp 5E-FHE engine. Just drove it home from MA on Sunday in a sever rain store without any leaks at all. The common conversion for these is to drop the Starlet turbo motor in, as they drop right in and give a real boost in power of 30 - 40 %. the nicest part is if you need any parts the drive train and suspension are the same as the Tercel/Paseo line. Which makes upgrades and improvements very cost effective. The VIN is EXY100014223
