A little history about the make; The pioneer manufacturer AutoMoto built robust & sporty machines powered by proprietory engines from Blackburne, Chaise, Zurcher, JAP and Villiers, and after WWII mainly French AMC 250cc OHV engines and Aubier-Dunne two-strokes. Gearboxes supplied by Burman, Chaise, JAP and Peugeot.The Paris based company started business in the year 1901 and merged with the Peugeot group in 1931.Manufacture ended in the year 1962. This very stylish 1950 AutoMoto 100AM model is a motorcycle that is also in Europe hardly ever on offer. In optical way the motorcycle looks very clean and distinctive, though the paint is not perfect where the complete motorcycle is showing traces of age and use (patina). It has been part of an antique motorcycle collection for many decades and has not been used for that period. Before it went on display the engine has been treated with preservating oil and the drive-chain wasn't put on in order to keep it in the original factory-grease (but of course comes with the bike). The engine spins freely and has good compression, the gearbox shifts fine and everything is in place, so don't think it'll take very much to get this bike back alive again.This motorcycle comes with an official European Certificate of Origin which document will be issued in your name and states the make, model, year of manufacture, displacement, weight etc, plus an official bill of sale from my company here in Belgium. Furthermore I’ll make sure that all the correct export-paperwork will be in place before the bike leaves from here, which documents will make the process of importing it into the US an easy ride. -On this listing I’m offering a special (fully sealed) crate, careful packing and physical shipping from here in Belgium to a US CFS as close as possible to you at my expense, meaning that I will pay for having the bike crated and all handling etc. plus the ocean-freight charge, where you are responsible for all charges at your (US) end, like entry fees, port, handling and eventually broker fees etc.If you want any additional information about this, please ask before you place a bid.
