This European specification example was purchased new in Germany on July 28, 1990 and is the ultimate classic Land Cruiser enthusiast’s truck! Finished in a rich Dark Green metallic with silver accent, the exterior finish shows extremely well with only minor imperfections visible upon close inspection. The 70 Series is a family of Toyota Land Cruiser models produced from 1984 until the present day. It replaced the 25-year-old 40 series as the off-road workhorse of the Land Cruiser heritage. In April 1990, a new model was introduced. The front grille, front fenders and engine hood were redesigned. The head lamp design changed as well. At the same time the sub name Prado was attached, but names like Land Cruiser and Land Cruiser II were still used in other parts of the world besides Japan. The new line from Land Cruiser was marketed toward more on-road purposes, despite a body-on-frame design which was highly capable off-road. The 2.4 L turbo diesel engine making 95 hp was installed. The line up included 2-door and 4-door versions available in SX, LX or EX (4 door only) grades of trim. The front suspension was changed to a “shock absorber through spring” design to improve handling. With the touch of a button you could switch between suspension settings. Inside, the original grey cloth front bucket seats and rear bench seat and all look great with only very minor signs of wear visible, a testament to the loving care this unique vehicle has received over the years. The door panels and dashboard also present very well with no cosmetic issues of any consequence. Paint and body are presentable with no visible damage or repaired areas that we could find. Bumpers are in good condition overall, front bumper does have some minor damage. This original Land Cruiser (called the Prado was a short wheelbase two-door with barn doors at the rear).
