Vehicle Detail
For sale is an early edition 1967 Mercury Cougar. I purchased the car from a dealer in Santa FE, NM. The car spent most of it's time in and around that area. The Cougar was originally lime green with a vinyl top. When I bought the car it was white and the vinyl top had been removed. I was told the engine was rebuilt with 18,680 miles on the odometer. It has 21609 miles on the clock as of now. That is subject to change as I drive it a lot. I don not know it the odometer has rolled over. This is a numbers matching car. Since I have had the Cougar, I put rack and pinion steering on it. It now has power steering and air conditioning also. I upgraded the sequencing directional lights with a digital controller. I replaced the original radio with an AM/FM stereo system with a USB chip for music storage. The exhaust system was replaced front to rear with headers, Flow Master mufflers and new exhaust pipes. The three speed manual transmission was rebuilt and new U-joints were installed on the drive shaft. The original radiator was replaced and a fan shroud added. The water pump was changed. I replaced the fuel pump after I got it. Most of the rubber seals around the doors and windows have been replaced, as was the windshield. The brakes have been overhauled all around. It has new front shocks and new air shocks in the rear. The "eyelids" on the signature Cougar headlights were brought up to standard. I replaced the gas tank. Instead of a clock, it has a built-in tachometer. When I had the car repainted, it was taken down to bare metal on most of it. A lot of bondo was removed and good body repair procedures were used. The new paint job was topped off with clear coat. There is a small paint chip on the right front fender above the bumper. The 14 inch wheels were replaced with five, 15 inch tires and Cragar Rims. Those are the major items that have been done to it. When the auction is over, the buyer will be required to deposit $500.00 in Pay Pal and the balance will be due in seven days. All sales are final. It is the buyer's responsibility to arrange for transportation. I will be ready to assist transporter if necessary. If you are looking for a great little car to drive, show and work on, this is it! If you are looking for a concurs correct Cougar like they show on UTube, this isn't it!
