Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE For your viewing pleasure and purchasing consideration, I'm proud to present a 1967 VW Beetle. 1967 was an interesting model year because it was the last year for the fabled Wide-5 lug pattern and the first year for 12 volt. I bought this particular '67 in 2006 when it was little more than a 1500cc motor bolted to a pan. Since then, as you can plainly see, I built it into a magnificent machine. It's got a full lowering kit courtesy of Airkewld and custom-built dual Kadrons from the carburetor masters at the Kaddie Shack. This bug loves to be driven and while it is lowered and has a bit of a bumpy ride, it is a pleasure to drive. It's got great low-end power thanks to the dual carbs and it cruises smoothly on the highway at 60-65mph. This bug has been driven with confidence on countless 50+ mile trips to and from various car shows. It starts up smoothly every time. It's been about 18 months since the 1500cc's last rebuild so there's many miles to go before you'll need to worry about it again. Since I've had the car, it's been garage-kept and is clean and as close to rust-free as you can get. The list of custom parts on this bad boy is long. Those with a keen eye will notice I've installed snowflakes pulled from a 1956 bug that was rotting in a junkyard. I replaced the bulbs with LEDs and they shine very bright. You'll see I've installed an original Nardi steering wheel with a custom billet adaptor. I've also installed pre-1960s chrome and a custom hood badge...and who could forget about those awesome Albert swan neck mirrors - a $400 option by themselves. I've also replaced the factory distributor with a highly sought after and ultra rare 010 dizzy from a Porsche 356. The power band is smooth and strong. It should be noted that this bug could use a front-end alignment. And while the factory generator does produce a charge, it has a hard time keeping up with the electrical demand when the headlights and taillights are on for an extended time. This will have to be addressed eventually. In the meantime, I've simply carried a second battery with me. The sale includes all the original parts (beam, factory carb and air cleaner, distributor, etc., etc.) should you decide to return it to the factory setup. You’re welcome to come take a look at this bug in person.
