It was owned, operated and maintained by the same company since new and taken out of service after it was discovered, during a daily inspection that oil and water were mixing within the engine. My friend who works for that company made a deal to purchase the truck with the plan to replace the head gaskets but his goals have changed after having his second heart-attack in February. The truck has sat for approximately 6-months at his property in western Maryland, long enough for the left rear tire to go flat and the batteries to go dead over the winter. The truck is rust free with minor dings and scratches overall but no major body damage. It was stripped of its emergency lighting, directional arrow board and front push bumper after being taken out of service. The front bumper will be included with the truck, but is currently not installed. The interior is pretty clean and has normal wear and tear. There were no drivability issues and the A/C worked up to the point that it was taken out of service. Living the life of a patrol and support vehicle that was relied upon daily, the truck was well maintained mechanically but it is not without flaws. The front tires have low mileage on them, but the tread on the rears are getting thin and the left rear tire is currently flat. The winning bidder will be required to provide a non-refundable $300 deposit at the end of the auction to help cover listing expenses. Full payment is expected within 10-days or at time of pickup. There is no rush to remove the vehicle from its current location at this time, but the seller is in the process of selling the property where it is located. Buyer is responsible for pickup and delivery of this truck but help loading for transport will be provided. Truck is being sold as is with no warranties expressed or implied. On Apr-23-16 at 12:58:30 PDT, seller added the following information: To answer some of the questions I've received... The truck does run. I charged the batteries and she fired right up. The engine sounds normal and runs good. Only ran it for a few seconds. Prior to the head gasket issue, this truck ran great. The bed measures 97-1/4" long inside, that's just a hair over 8 feet in length. The bed was sprayed with Rhino Liner or some other brand bed liner when it was new so it's not some recent addition applied to cover or hide rust. The spray in liner has been compromised in a few spots on the deck of the bed, so there is some rust where the paint was scuffed. Should be easy to clean up and have touched up. I put air in the left rear tire and it holds air, but it will likely deflate in time. I'm sure there's a nail or screw in the tread somewhere that needs to be plugged.
