**Today I have a Silver E36 1999 BMW M3 at no reserve. It has 220,457 miles and a 5 speed manual transmission. It does have high miles but the last owner bought it in 2008 with 46,080 miles on it and owned it until February 2016. I have put about 400 miles on it and it runs excellent except for the clutch. The exterior is on very nice shape and the interior is on great shape besides the front seats.This would make an excellent track car or daily driver. I would suggest having it towed. I stopped driving it because I did not want the clutch to get worse and I wanted the buyer to be able to actually drive the car.
I am thinning my personal herd of cars that I hoard! I was planning on driving this as a daily. It's cheap M3 that was unabused and complately stock. The miles are high but runs so good.
I would not buy this car thinking you are going to drive it home unless you are close. It is driveable and can be taken for a test drive but again it will 100% need a clutch- more less the pressure plate and throw out bearing are the culprit from what I was told by my mechanic. Im almost positive it is the origninal clutch and mostly highway miles on the car.
Mechanical
The M3 runs excellent besides the clutch. I was amazed at how mechanically sound it is with the miles. It was definitely well taken care of. The engine sounds perfect and I didn’t notice any oil loss in the 400 miles I drove it- I changed the oil when I bought the car. The only leak I saw under was a little from the valve cover gasket. I have one I will include.
It will however need a new clutch kit. I thought it may need a slave or master cylinder when I bought it but the throw out bearing is very loud now. The transmission shifts good and does not grind. The shifter has play in it. I have the kit from pelican parts to fix that. The clutch grabs almost instantly and did this when I bought it. I did buy a new hose from the master to the slave cylinder and will include that too. I didn’t install it because after a 2 hour trip 2 weeks ago the throw out bearing started making noise when the pedal is pushed in. So it basically needs a new clutch and I have too many project cars at the moment.
I did replace the rear strut mounts and there was not any tears in the chassis. The tires are atleast half tread. All of the brake pads are good. The suspension and steering is tight. The AC is cold and everything else works as it should. The check engine light comes and goes for the one front Oxygen sensor. I have a picture of the code from my reader.
Interior
The interior is in Great condition beside the front 2 seats. It had seat covers on it when I bought it. They are included and they are in the pictures and they have some wear as well. All of the door panels and dash etc are in good shape- see pics. The OBC is the 11 button. The time and date light up but the other display does not. I assume its light bulbs. It has Weather Tech winter floor mats. Please look at the pictures for the seats and overall condition.
Exterior
The Exterior is in great shape and you wouldn’t believe it has 200,000 miles on it. There are a few rock chips on the front bumper. There is a quarter sized dent on the driver side by the door. The rear bumper has a spot where the paint has chipped off. Looks like a trailer hitch tapped it. Its only paint damage. The rims are in great shape. 2 are perfect and 2 have a couple scrapes. There isn’t any rust on it that I saw. Please look at all of the pictures.
**SHIPPING & Pick-up**
I will ship the vehicle anywhere but the buyer must arrange Transport. The vehicle must be picked up within 7 days unless you have contacted me and made other arrangements. I will also not deliver the vehicle but am willing to assist in anyway possible but must contact me before auction ends.
**Payment**
Cash is preferred payment. Certified checks & Money orders are also accepted. Wire transfers are accepted for any type of purchase with a $25 fee added. I will not accept personal checks.
