This 1968 Dodge Coronet sedan is an excellent low mileage original car with only 39,765 documented miles since new. It features the 4bbl 318 V-8 with dual exhaust, and is backed by the 727 Torqueflite transmission and the 8 3/4 inch rear axle with 3.23 gears. This is a fleet model of the type used by police departments in 1968, with rubber floor mats, minimal trim and heavy duty suspension. Purchased new in 1968, the car was driven sparingly over the years and finally garaged in the early 80s, where it sat in dry storage until approx 2 years ago when it was purchased from the estate of the original owner. I have all records since new, including the original manual with the Certicard, original window sticker, sales invoice and the original owners logbook where he documented all mileage driven and maintenance performed over the years. Within the last two years, the entire drive train has been gone through and it received new brake shoes and lines, a new fuel tank and fuel lines, a new 4bbl carburetor, reconditioned radiator and trans oil cooler. Rear axle, transmission and power steering were all flushed and refilled with fresh fluids. The car runs excellent and literally drives like it just left the dealership. Power steering is nice and tight, and the car tracks absolutely straight and true. The original style manual drum brakes work exactly as they should, with no pulling or shuddering whatsoever. The 727 Torqueflite transmission shifts smooth and crisp. This car is very fast, and with the .323 rear axle it easily keeps up with freeway traffic here in southern California. It has new heavy duty rear springs and shocks, and rides on new 205/75/R14 Uniroyal tires mounted on the original painted steel wheels with the original police style dog dish hub caps. The paint and upholstery are all original and show only minor wear. Paint is thin in some spots, and there are minor touch ups to some of the edges. Has minor scratches and dings in some areas, and if you look at it in the right light, you can see a minor indentation in the left rear quarter, just below the first O in Coronet. Seat upholstery, headliner, dash pad and package tray are perfect, with no sun cracking or tears. Original style non-retractable shoulder belts in front and lap belts in rear. The original rubber floor mat is in very good shape in front, but in the rear it has become brittle and cracked in some spots due to age. The car has never been wrecked, and there is absolutely no rust through anywhere. The trunk, floors, rockers and quarters are all as solid as can be. All glass is original with no chips or cracks. The original trunk mat is in very good condition. Has the original jack, but the spare is no longer present. All lights, gauges and accessories work as they should. Original AM radio works, as does the heater and defroster. I have taken it on a number of road trips and it has always performed flawlessly. I wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere. Over 10k invested in making this Dodge a very reliable (and fast) daily driver. It looks, runs and sounds just like a late 60's Mopar should. The reserve is way below what I have invested in it, but circumstances force me to sell it. The Dodge is also for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end the listing any time.
