1964 VW Beetle - "Herbie the Lovebug" Replica. We purchased this car in 2009 had it shipped to our house in Nebraska. This car spent 95% of it's life in California before coming to us. It spend the winters in our garage and has NO Rust, as you can see in the photos. The floors are solid and are original, as I see no welding of them being replaced. 3 months after getting the car, I had to rebuild the motor. Everything was replaced internally. It is very strong and runs like a champ. We are moving and our new home will not accommodate the many toys we have acquired, so some must go. "This is a 1964 VW Beetle, Herbie the Love Bug "53" Replica. This is a rust free car that has spent most of it's life in CA and was restored approx 6 years ago. The car had been professionally transformed into the famous Herbie 53. All Herbie stripes/numbers are decals and could be removed if wanted. All are the the proper size and have been placed in the exact locations of the original movie car. The car draws tons of attention from everyone, young and old. The car has been rented out several times for advertising. The car features the original single port engine, 4 speed transmission, EMPI 5 spoke aluminum wheels, 2 1/2" front drop spindles, newer TMI interior, seat belts (4), new carpet, am/fm cd, Clifford alarm, spare tire, original jack and front carpet kit. The car is driven nearly every day and drives like new. The paint and interior look great, but does have minor blemishes/dings. All ACC, including Lights, Directionals, Heater, Fuel Gauge, Horn and Parking Brake work like they should. The only mechanical issue with this car is, every now and then it pops out of 4th gear. It has never been an issue with me as you just put it back in gear and go."
