Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a 1983 Honda 185s three wheeler. I've owned it for the past eight years and find myself seldom riding it anymore. Four years ago I replaced the front and rear wheel bearings, front/rear brake shoes, chain/sprockets, tires/tubes, and the seat cover. Last year I replaced the oil, air filter, spark plug, cleaned the carb, adjusted the valves, and checked the timing. Yesterday was the first time I started it since last September and it literally started on the first pull. After getting it started I checked it over and took it for a spin. The transmission shifted great, motor idled nice, brakes still worked good, and it didn't smoke at all while riding it. The high/low beam headlight and tail light work too. The front suspension works great and the fork boots are in nice shape without any rips. The paint is faded on the fuel tank but the inside of the tank is in great shape. The plastics aren't broken but they have this crackled appearance to them from UV damage (see the closeup picture of the front fender). All of the decals appear to be there but most of them have some level of damage to them. The seat cover is newer but the seat pan has rusted in spots so it might need to be replaced or repaired. This 185s has optional Hondaline accessories that include the front rack, rear rack, and trailer hitch. There is also an aftermarket skid plate mounted on it. The way it is outfitted it almost looks like a smaller version of a Big Red. I haven't registered this since 2012 (I only rode it on private land so I didn't see the point in renewing), but I have the WI registration certificate in my name which would make registering it easy for the new owner. Included in the auction is the original sales brochure from 1983 and any spare parts I might have for it. I can store the three wheeler for up to a month and am happy to assist with pick up. Thanks!
