Vehicle Detail
1990 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ62 VIN: JT3FJ62G3L1120253 Very desirable 1990 model – the last year of production. This year included 3-point rear seat belts and a multitude of little improvements that carried into the FJ80 series. Original paint – absolutely no rust! (see photos) Note the scratches, dings, etc. that come with original paint. This is a California cruiser that has been in Utah for the last few years, so it has seen very little road salt. Every effort has been made to use Toyota OE and OEM parts for upgrades and repairs. No expense has been spared on this dandy little truck! This cruiser has 237K, which is relatively high miles, but the transmission shifts properly and the engine compression is within specification. There are no strange noises at any engine RPM or road speed. Known issues are that the power door locks do not work and the radio is not functioning. The (new) tailgate carpet has a tear in it and the OE factory carpeting is worn. Minor fluid leaks as one would expect with a vehicle of this age. Oil consumption is about 1qt/2000 miles. 4-WD functions perfectly high and low - it is absolutely awesome off road! There are two minor body dings (see photos) and at least two bumper dings including the damaged LF plastic bumper end (see photos). Typical paint chips, wear, scratches, etc. New in last 3 years: Suspension – Spector Off Road stock lift springs, greasable shackles, new shocks. Front steering knuckle rebuild using OE parts. New sway bar ends and bushings (Spector). Cruiser rides better than new. Air Conditioning – Toyota OE conversion to R134A, new Toyota OE clutch, condenser and misc. parts. Cooling System – Toyota OEM water pump, T-stat, gaskets, hoses (all) and belts. Toyota OE fan clutch, aftermarket radiator. Interior: Driver’s seat – Toyota OE bottom cover with new foam, passengers seat bottom foam only. Dash Cap – aftermarket (looks awesome). Spector rubber cargo area cover, rubber floor mats and tailgate carpet. Aftermarket power window/lock switch block for driver’s door. Except for the driver’s window, the power windows are a little slow and need to be cleaned and greased. Alternator and battery – Toyota OE. New plugs, cap, rotor, and wires – all OEM. Included is a Toyota OE coil that is not installed. Windshield – Aftermarket with new OEM gasket. Brake Booster and master cylinder, rotors, brake pads, shoes, etc. – all aftermarket. 5 new 31x10.5R15LT All Terrain tires (with about 8000 miles on 4 of them) Toyota OEM Shop manuals for FJ60 and FJ62, boxes of misc. (small) OE parts included. This cruiser is for sale locally in Salt Lake City for $12,500. We purchased an ’86 Syncro Westy – so our lovely Cruiser needs a new home! Thank you for looking. David R. On Mar-10-16 at 21:39:04 PST, seller added the following information: 3/10/16 Here is an update.: We put the vehicle on a lift tonight and took a bunch of undercarriage photos. If you have access to the Dropbox folder than you can view these immediately. If you would like access please email me: david(dot)richardson2(at)comcast(dotnet) Here is a summary:The engine bottom is wet with oil - from unknown leaks on passengers side of the engine. The front differential is soaked with engine oil so it was impossible to tell if it leaks. The transmission appears leak free. Transfer case and rear differential were both dry (no signs of leakage). Steering knuckles looked typical. The frame shows superficial rust rear of mid ship and only at welds. Otherwise it has all its original paint, as does all of the undercarriage. The inside of the front fenders, inside rockers and inside of rear panels are absolutely rust free. All the original body plugs are intact, except where the wiring harness exits the drivers side rear panel (below the floor) where there is evidence of tampering to the wiring harness, perhaps for trailer lights. We did find one rust spot - and i was able to upload one more photo to EBay, so have a look. It is below one of the rocker trim screws below the drivers door. Interestingly there was no evidence of rust on the inside of the fender at this location, so it appears that this is corrosion is still superficial. On another low note, when we removed the seat covers we found a small holiday in the passengers seat bottom cushion, the foam for this seat is probably original whereas I originally thought we had replaced it. I can send photos of all of this if you don't have or want access to the dropbox folder. To answer a few questions: The reserve is $9800. I am AWOL 3/20 - 4/11, so pick up will need to be in that time frame. If the cruiser does not sell on this go around it will be listed in mid April. In my opinion it is absolutely drive-able cross country, albeit the radio does not work. This cruiser is a head turner, it gets compliments every day - thank you for your interest.
