Vehicle Detail
Rarely does a vehicle with this level of provenance come to market. I purchased this truck from the family of the original owner. This truck was ordered new by a 35 year Studebaker millwright, the first year the Champ was offered. Over the years, he collected replacement pieces for this truck and upon his death, had accumulated a significant number of rare parts, including NOS rear Styleside long bed panels. The truck remained in his family, passing first to his son and then to his daughter. It was the son-in-law who finally did a full, body off frame restoration, over the last few years, using many of the parts stockpiled years ago by his father-law. Virtually every component of this truck has been restored or replaced, including brakes, suspension and rebuilt engine, with a 289 crankshaft upgrade. He also gave the truck a fresh, light metallic paint job, (shows a few touched-up chips and minor imperfections), a complete new interior, all new rubber, all bright work restored or re-chromed. The truck is equipped with the original drivetrain, a 259 V8 with a three-speed column shift transmission, overdrive and twin traction. The truck needs nothing and drives as new, with significant power/torque, tight handling and smooth, even braking. A show worthy solid number 2 vehicle with extraordinary history and documentation.I have many more photos available and can take specific shots as you requestThis truck is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early.
