Click here to see several photos of this 1972 Land Cruiser Land Cruiser Nation is selling this 1983 FJ40 for the owner. This Mustard 1972 FJ40 was a "Father and Son" project. They were the second owners and purchased the truck around 1994. The original owner was a Rapides Parish, LA Sheriff who lived on a farm outside of Alexandria, LA. According to him, he used the truck solely as a farm vehicle. The odometer reads 46,000 miles on it, though the odometer cable was broken when they purchased it. Therefore, we can’t say exactly how many miles are on the truck, but still believe it to be LOW. This FJ40 reportedly runs like a dream however the body needed work. The body work was done between 1994 and 2000. The inside has been sprayed with Rhino liner. The top is original and has never been taken off. It doesn’t leak! Around 2010, a paint company that specializes in recreating factory paint, produce some of the original Toyota “Mustard” using the correct codes. It is painted with single stage paint, just like the original. Again, work done in late 2010 or early 2011. Current owners have put less than 1000 additional miles on it. Although it could be a daily driver, has been driven sparingly. The carburetor has been replaced with an OEM factory Non-US carburetor. Therefore, the Smog control has been disabled. She has an newer starter, distributer, and fuel filter plus Jacobs electronic timing and ignition. Everything else under the hood is OEM. Master cylinder and slave has been replaced, as well as the exhaust manifold with OEM parts. New brakes, New shocks, New Reverse-shackle suspension, OEM PTO winch! All seats are OEM, but have been recovered. New foam added to drivers seat. Added KC fog lights. All glass is good, Tires are excellent! Front tow bar and a high lift jack come with truck as well as a full-size, new spare tire. There is no spare tire carrier in the truck however it can be added. Bolt holes were filled in during body work anticipating an after market carrier may be added. Rear heater has been removed and front heater is not currently connected. Cigarette lighter is missing however the socket has power. Undercarriage is typical, could be cleaned and sprayed with rust prevention. Minor paint blemishes in places. Interior trim paint remains original. Body mounts are original and could use replacement.
