Vehicle Detail
The car has been in my family since brand new. It is not a factory amg car. 5 speed car, very rare and limited interior and exterior color combination. Interior is 99% perfect. What’s been replaced: A/C Compressor, original magnet clutch installed on new compressor, A/C dryer, A/C blower fan switch, both rear window regulators and motors, front window motors, thermostat, fan clutch, spark plugs, ignition coil, cap and rotor button, water pump, serpentine belt, serpentine belt adjuster, serpentine belt adjuster shock, brake fluid has been emptied and replaced with new fluid, front brake caliper, brake pads, power steering fluid, power steering filter, all four shocks, fuel filter, updated wheels, fuel pressure regulator, mass air senor sensor, throttle body has been replaced, ASR works fine and no limp mode issues, coolant has been flushed and replaced, engine temperature sensor, all light bulbs replaced, no engine lights, no wiring harness issues at all, center console wood has been refinished, interior is flawless, paint has never been buffed, power moon roof works flawlessly, headlight wipers work, title is clean. Cars odometer broke a few years ago, say 70K plus, I think it has about 90,000 on it. Original grille and wheels plus spare included with car. Some of the original tool kit is still with the car. The medical kit is not with the car anymore. The ISSUE with the car is: the reverse clutches have burned out in the transmission. Car drives forward, but cannot back up without being pushed. Rebuild kit is http://www.makcotransmissionparts.com/722-5.html less than 300 dollars. A complete used transmission can be had for a few hundred more. I have no time anymore to continue to restore this car. Always synthetic oil Mobil 1; car can be driven to California with the A/C on the entire time. The radio and auto closing doors and truck are the only other none working items. The auto closing doors and truck can be fixed with a simple vacuum pump replacement off ebay for less than 100 buckets if you must have that option working. You will not find a cleaner example of this body style from this era with these options. The 3.2L inline six cylinder motor will run for hundreds of thousands of miles in this car if you continue to maintain it the way we have. Even if you thought about doing a motor swap, this is the car to use because its so clean; the v12 is a direct drop plus swapping computer boxes under the hood. Your done, and would have a great resto modded, sedan; or repair trans, and have one of the cleanest examples of a W140 possibly anywhere for cheep. I have the original books and keys. Car only has one AC unit and does NOT have any electronic suspension to give you hassle. These are the last of the spring suspension cars. No air to fail or hydraulic fluid to replace or cost you thousands later to service. The body style is one of the most timeless of the past fifty years. The exhaust is perfect no leaks, the paint feels and looks brand new, the car leaks nothing but water from A/C. Car spent ten years in storage in TN. Other cars from these years are not close to this well-kept even with the issue. Fix the transmission to have a low issue classic Mercedes Benz. The car is listed as local pick up, meaning you need to have a shipper come get it if you’re out of my area. The car is garaged in south Florida. Please contact with any questions at all. Thanks.
