'Head turning ' Land yacht ! My 1961 Cadillac series 62 convertible gets a lot of attention and thumbs up wherever it goes , overall it looks fantastic , but I am a bit of a perfectionist so here are the main things I would do to get her back to like new condition if I had room/ time / $ to keep her ! ( detail in photos) - There are some small surface rust bubbles in the rear panel , some more on the bottom edge of the sill , some chrome trim has some pitting , there is a little crack in the rear quarter window (that for some reason now decided to not retract when I put the roof down for photos , will investigate ) , clock does not work , trunk mat missing , tonneau cover dirty, engine bay could use a detail. However , these are small things that barely detract from this stunning piece of rolling sculpture . Everything else seems to work as it should .Overall the Interior is in nice shape , no rips/ cracks , ( some minor sun damage and discoloration on top of rear setback ) comfy seats , good glass , good carpet, radio and instruments work .Mechanically very sound , starts easily , idles nicely, drives straight and true , brakes work well , no pulling , auto trans shifts smoothly , believe the odometer is correct mileage, and understand from the prior owner when I bought it a few years ago,, that the engine was rebuilt in the mid 90's so now has about 10k on it since . Work done included rebuilt engine, carb, refurbished radiator , new water pump(recent) addition of pertronix electronic ignition , new belts and hoses, new exhaustArguably the best looking of the 60's era Cadillacs , the car has great presence and likely great appreciation in the future . Low reserve set around Hagerty # 4 , ( so please don't ask !)
