I have been asked to list this car that was donated to a 503 (c) (3) charity. I drove the car from the donor's house, about 5 miles, to the charity's parking lot. The transmission did not shift gears. It felt like it was stuck in second. In order to get the most money for the charity I spent a few months asking mechanics if they could take a look at it and see what was the problem. By the time I got someone to look at the car, he put the key in the ignition and it would not turn! I'm told it could need a new key battery, the car battery might be dead, the car may have a second battery for certain items, like the ignition, or the key could have gone bad. I tried changing the battery in the key, no luck, I charged the car's battery, no luck. I give up. I will guaranty that the engine is good and runs well. The car needs to be flat towed. There are a few places on the body that have rust bubbles (two pictures show them.) There is a small crack in the upper center portion of the rear window. The car is in good condition, not excellent condition. The tires all need to be replaced. Unless you are a Mercedes mechanic, have a similar parts car or need a parts car, stay away from this auction. This is a no reserve auction that can get the right person a great deal, make sure you are the right person before you bid.
