Vehicle Detail
Only 1689 Jaguars XJS Classic V12 were manufactured in 1991. This was the last production year with the dual round lights in the front, making this year model one of the most wanted. If I had to describe this car in one word it would be "Elegant". This is the perfect color combination of black exterior with rich tan interior. Every time I drive it, I get looks and compliments. Car has been garage kept; therefore, chassis, rubbers, chrome are in excellent condition. Everything is original in the car. Don't be fooled by other cars that have been painted to bring back lost glamour, but a repainted car doesn't have the same value as an original. Car runs like a charm. Engine is very smooth and powerful. It can be driven on Sundays only or can be used as an everyday car. We purchased this car in 1999 from the origina owner. I have the original car catalog and window sticker, and the car had a list price of $64,180.00 back in 1991. I am a car maniac and like to have all the scheduled maintenance done. I just had a complete 50k miles maintenance done to the car engine which included replacing the following parts: sparkplugs, both central ignition coils, Spark Plug Wires, Ignition Rotor, Distributor Cap, Fuel Filter, Fuel Rail hoses and clamps, Air Filter, throttle shaft bushings, belts, hood shocks and engine thermostat. Tires were replaced a few years ago, but since the car gets driven occasionally, the tires still have many years of life. In addition, I just replaced the fabric top and interior liner, so you can be worry free for many more years. The exterior paint is in excellent condition, though it has a few scratches and dents expected for a 25 year old vehicle. The interior is very clean, and everything is in working order. The dash is perfect with no cracks. The center console wood has minor cracks, again, expected for a 25 year old vehicle, when real wood was used in the interior. The driver side leather shows normal wear, though a good conditioning by a professional can bring it back to near new condition. Overall this car is in excellent shape both mechanically and cosmetically. I have the original manuals and service records. A car in this condition is hard to come by. I am really torn to have to sell this car. I have a lot of good memories but unfortunately I will not have an indoor space to store the car anymore. A car like this deserves to be garage kept to maintain its great condition and appreciate in value over time. You are buying this car directly from the owner, I know the history of the car. Please email me with any questions you may have about the vehicle.
