I bought this Challenger in August of 2012. I flew to Chicago and drove it home. It was about a 600 mile trip and the car performed great. I have owned several Challengers and this is the best handling Challenger that I have ever owned. This car was owned by one family and it has its original interior and convertible top. The interior is in very good condition, no tears, or chalking on the door panels. There is some fading and staining on the door panels and seats but what do you expect from a 45 year old car. The dash is a 3 speaker dash that is perfect condition. The AM-FM radio plays as it did when the car left the factory. The original space saver tire, canister, jack and lug wrench are with the car. The car has had one repaint in the original butterscotch color. The family advised me that the mileage was true and the car runs great. I had a Chrysler master mechanic check the engine and transmission and he advised me that it was the original 318 engine and 904 transmission. I have the original build sheet and many pages of receipts for work that was done to the car. The following items were added to the car by the original owners. The original radiator had some leaking problems and due to the cost i chose not to repair it. The temperature control cable is broken and I have a replacement one that will go with the car. The air conditioning work properly and is original r-12. The top is original to the car and has some of tears to the piping/binding around the rear window. I rarely used the car with the top up and wanted to keep the original top. When I was driving it home from Chicago I hit a thunderstorm and there were no leaks. All the safety equipment works, lights, windshield wipers,defroster, horn I own two other Challenger convertibles and this one is a 9 out of 10 scale. I am selling this car to buy a hellcat. I believe that this is one of the best 1971 Challenger convertibles out there In 1971 there were 1857 Dodge challenger convertibles built of which 1774 V-8's were built. This car is ready for the cruising season and I would not hesitate to drive it cross country. I can assist with loading it if it needs to be shipped.
