Ferrari’s F-355 is one of the most iconic sports cars produced by the marque, boasting an elegant and timeless design that looks as good today as it did when it was first released. The rarely seen Blu Pozzi paint is in great condition with no major imperfections to be found. Inside, the dark blue leather seats all look great with normal wear visible as to be expected on a car of this age. The door panels and dashboard that are upholstered to match the exterior of the car and look fantastic. The top has been recently serviced by one of the area’s premier Ferrari authorities, GLB Motorworks and is fully operational. This blue top is a nice complement to the rest of the car and comes complete with matching blue leather boot. The Ferrari F355 (Type F129) is a sports car built by Ferrari from May 1994 to 1999. It is an evolution of the Ferrari 348 and was replaced by the Ferrari 360. It is a mid-engine, rear wheel drive, V-8 powered two-seat coupe, produced in targa and convertible variants. Design emphasis for the F355 was placed on significantly improved performance, as well as drivability across a wider range of speeds and in different environments (such as low-speed city traffic.) The F355 Spider debuted in 1995, its Pinafarina-penned lines honed by 1,800 hours in the wind tunnel, resulting in a blend of elegant style and aerodynamic performance. For the first time on a Ferrari, the semi-automatic soft-top was powered electronically. Initially, the Spider was offered with the 6-speed transmission. In 1997, the Spider was offered with the F1 transmission option. The Spider proved to be the second-most popular F355 model, with a total production of 3,717 units, of which 2,664 were produced with the 6-speed transmission and another 1,053 produced with the F1 transmission. This Euro spec F-355 Ferrari was legally imported into New York, NY on 12/2000. On 6/2001 the vehicle was declared to meet US highway safety specs and the bond on the vehicle was released. The car resided with what appears to be the same owner in New York, NY from 12/2000 to 6/2013. CARFAX notes that it was serviced at “Ferrari of Long Island” 19 separate times over a 13 year period. On 7/2013 CARFAX reports that insurance had issued a salvage/NAM title on the vehicle. On 2/2014 a rebuilt/NAM title was issued. The report does not declare if the car was stolen or wrecked, and drives out nicely without any signs of major repairs. We asked the technicians at GLB Motorworks, a long time and very reputable European car service center here in St. Louis, to thoroughly inspect the car from stem to stern, and they found no evidence of major damage or repairs. However, it still carries a rebuilt title and is being sold as such. Please bid accordingly. This Euro spec Ferrari is a classic beauty and is a fantastic example of what a Ferrari is supposed to be, understated with the hint of the car’s true performance and potential. This example comes equipped with A 3.5L 40 valve DOHC V-8 engine, 6 speed F1 “Electrohydrolic” automatic/manual transmission, two suspension damper settings, “Comfort” and “Sport”, power-assisted steering and 18 Inch Ferrari staggered wheels. The F1 paddle shifter can be used in manual mode where the paddles are used to shift up and down, or by automatic mode, where this sports car drives like an automatic Corvette…even your wife can drive it! These F-355 Ferraris are becoming extremely sought after following right in line with the massive appreciation we’ve seen in earlier models! This Ferrari has all of the creature comforts of modern sports cars and still retains the classic drive train layout that has made the “The Prancing Horse” famous. With the top up or down, the driver still gets the thrill of driving a mid-engine V-8, manual sports car that is plenty fast, without the steep-introduction price that a new Ferrari commands.
