Good Afternoon, Here I have a 1951 UPS Deliverry Truck van. I found this in Upstate NY behind a shed. It has been sitting there for close to 40 years. It was being used as a storage shed. I pulled it out to find that it is an unmolested UPS truck that had been taken out of service by UPS. The 1973 Registration and Insurance card were still in the pouch behind the seat. What makes these trucks so rare is that UPS protects their brand so hard, that all trucks are taken to the crusher, emblems removed and painted all white, right down to the tires, and then crushed. They never wanted the liability or the someone using their brand trucks for something else... I replaced the used 223 with a used rebuilt of the same casting number. I replaced anything that was rubber, brake lines, tires, wheel cylinders. It still has the split wheels on it, and I did not want to take away from the original parts of the truck, but one of them had a bad spot, I have it still it you would like to get it repaired to have completey original, but for now I have wheels and tires on it that will work. The rear door is super cool the way it works, opoens on a huge hinge so that you dont have to drive away from the dock to close it. The upkeep on this truck must have been fabulous from UPS, all parts are tight and work well. I drive it at least twice a week. This would make a fabulous movie car. 1 tons and coe s are super poplular right now, and this is a rare find. Since I have found it, I have run into 2 other guys that say they have one. Neither of them are original. This could be one of the only early original remaining UPS trucks around today. Dont miss out. I have taken this to half a dozen car shows from NY to CA, and you can belive the attention it gets. I know I am forgetting a million things about this truck.
