That the 'dawn of motoring' took place in France is a fact where not many people are familiar with. This Hirondelle (French for Swallow) was built by Manufacture Francaise d’Armes et Cycles (MF/ManuFrance). Established in 1885, the gun-producer ManuFrance was France's first mail order company.It was also MF that had the first French company with their own exclusive chain of 12 shopping-malls.It offered a wide range of products, the most famous being guns, bicycles and sewing machines. After WW2, the company added high quality motorcycles that were offered until production ended in 1954. This rare 1952 Hirondelle twinport sport-model is a motorcycle that is also in Europe hardly ever on offer. The odometer-reading is 23599 km / 14694 mile, only have no history to proof this is correct. Something also interesting is that the speedometer is produced by the exclusiveFrench watch/clock producer 'Jaeger'.In optical way the motorcycle looks very distinctive, though the paint is old/not nice and clearly showing age and use. It has been put in storage a number of years ago, only in case you want to bring it back to the road again, the motorcycle needs to be checked through completely. I had the engine running and it sounded ok, the gearbox is shifting fine through all gears. This motorcycle comes with an official European Certificate of Origin which document will be issued in your name and states the make, model, year of manufacture, displacement, weight etc, plus an official bill of sale from my company here in Belgium.
