(This Feature is in-operable on 75% of Corvettes you see listed for sale) I am only the 4th Owner of this remarkable "Survivor" 1969 Corvette 427 ci. Big Block, 4-speed Coupe. An original Colorado Car, the Car has always only been driven in nice weather and stored Winters. The Car was appraised back in 2006 with 61,000 miles by Corvette City Corvette Specialist and Appraiser Gary Steffens at $40,000 due to it's excellent original condition, it being a highly optioned Corvette; and it's desirable Color combination of White exterior Body with Blue Interior with Leather Seats. The Corvette has only been driven 2,000 "sunny day" miles since that appraisal. During the appraisal/inspection, an Engine Compression and Cylinder leak down test was conducted with all cylinders at 140 to 150 psi (none lower); and a cylinder leak down rate of less than 5% (most 4% or lower) of "all cylinders" The Engine in this Corvette is "very strong" and has a "ton of torque" (460 lbs/ft . It doesn't burn oil, starts easily, idles smoothly and runs very strong! The Engine has "never" been out of the Car "never bored", never rebuilt. - "Original" - Still has original Smog Pump and A.I.R System. Here's what else Mr. Steffens had to say about this Car: "This 1969 Corvette is one of the most "original, complete, highly optioned and un-damaged Cars" I have ever inspected. The Body and Frame/undercarriage is straight; undamaged; and rust free." (There is no rust corrosion on the original Frame of this Car..! - my words) "Because of the originality of this Car, the many Options, and the Desirability of the Color combination....I appraise this Corvette at: $40,000. That was at 61,000 miles and 9 years ago. It's only been driven 2,000 miles since and these, (all original) Cars, have "appreciated" in value since then..! The only "non-original" Items on this Car at the present time are the Radio, which was replaced with a Cassette Player - AM/FM Radio made specifically to fit this year Corvette; (I have the Original Delco Radio..see photo) ; The original Rochester Quadra-Jet 4-bbl Carburetor was replaced with a Holley, ( I have the "original correct numbered date code correct" Quadra-Jet Carburetor safely put away in a Box and it goes with the Car....see photo), and a Passenger Door Mirror. My personal preference in Carburetors is Holley, and I put on a brand new $500.00 "spread bore" Holley Carburetor and manifold heat shield (with no mods needed). The heat shield helps prevent fuel percolation that happens because of the ethanol blended gasoline they sell these days that tends to percolate at 100 degrees. You can see the heat shield in the photos of the Engine. It's the best of "both worlds"....The Holley "outperforms" the Quadra-Jet by leaps and bounds....the Car runs better and more efficiently with the Holley; The Holley is made to run on todays ethanol blended gasolines.....And....The original Quadra-Jet (see photo), is safely tucked away in a Box, to be put back on when/if the new Owner desires. The current overall condition of this Corvette is excellent. Everything works as noted above, ( all Fiber-Optics and Hydraulics work as spec'd); The Car starts easily and runs "strong". The Muncy Transmission rows thru the Gears with no issues, and the 3:36 Posi is just the right Gear Set for low end grunt (with the 460 lbs /ft of big block torque); but high enough for highway cruising. The all original Interior, is in "amazing" like new condition with no torn or damaged upholstery, The seats are not ripped or torn; Door Panels are Intact and carpeting clean, with Corvette Floor Mats. For safety reasons I had a Passenger side Door Mirror installed by a Chevrolet/ GM Dealer. Some photos depict the Car earlier this Summer before I had the Mirror installed, and others show the Factory, Dealer installed right side, passenger door Mirror. Mechanically, the Car has been gone over and had "all" new fan belts installed this past summer, including the one often over-looked or just missing on a lot of Corvettes....the Water Pump to Crank fan Belt...(New); along with the other three (3) Belts...all new. New Power Steering Hoses installed this Summer; New rear Shock Absorbers; New rear Disc Brake Caliper; (other Calipers were replaced prior); New Rear Struts installed, the new Holley Carburetor mentioned above; Brand new Stainless Steel exhaust system from the exhaust manifolds right back to the Stainless steel exhaust Tips (including two (2) new Mufflers were installed this past summer....New Tune up including all new Ignition Switch; Ignition Points; Distributor Cap; Rotor; Spark Plugs; Oil Lube and Filter all completed less than 300 miles ago!.... Over $2k in maintenance work done this year and the Car has been driven less than 300 miles since all of this work was performed. This Corvette needs "nothing", and will need nothing for quite some time, except to be driven and enjoyed....Turn-key operation....turn the key and go! The Corvette's exterior paint is beginning to show it's age a little in some of the usual places from engine heat, ie. the top of the Hood and front Fender tops. In normal sunlight the Car presents very well, and still wins shows, but under bright fluorescent lights, there are some signs of aging paint and minor paint checking on the hood and front fender tops, from years of engine heat. There is a very minor crack in the paint around one headlight bucket and another minor crack in the paint at the radio antenna base. The paint on the flanks (sides), and Tee Top panels is in great shape. These are minor issues common to all older, fiber-glass bodied Corvettes, mostly due to age, not by externally caused damage. NOTE: There are "NO RIVETS" showing in the Header Panel between the Headlight Buckets and the Front Bumper. There is "NO" evidence of any unevenness in the paint in this area from rivets working their way through the Fiber-Glass. I have been told this was a problem on a lot of older C-3 Corvettes. There is absolutely no evidence of that happening on this Car. I have several close-up photos of the Header Panel on this Corvette and if you'd like to see them send me your e-mail address as I have no more room for photos here. (I have added some photos of the excellent condition of the rust free Frame and undercarriage area, a photo of the drivers' side roof/windshield support where the Cars Vin Tag is located, along with photos of the original Radio and Quadra-Jet Carb (with a close up of the Carburetor casting number). This "original" 46 year old Corvette still gets the "Thumbs up" driving down the road and will do so for many years to come. There is the "original" Owner's Manual; Protect-O-Plate and receipts for maintenance going back to the early 1980's. This is a well documented "original Car". Comes with a Car Cover I will be glad to try and answer any questions you might have. This 1969 Corvette is for sale : As Is/Where Is with no warranty, implied or other.
