Vehicle Detail
For every 1G CRX fanatic out there, here is a rare opportunity to own one (or Both!) of the sweetest 1st gen CRX's still surviving... You will look long and hard, and probably in vain, to find another 1st gen Si that will match either of these cars in authenticity and quality... Neither of these cars shows any signs of crash history, and Both of these cars have NO RUST ISSUES AT ALL. IF YOU HAVE A SERIOUS INTEREST IN EITHER OF THESE CARS, PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ EVERYTHING AND SCROLL DOWN TO LOOK AT THE DOZENS OF PHOTOS POSTED. Then, if you have any questions, or would like to discuss the purchase of one of these cars, please send me a text message or call me at (908)797-9758. THANK YOU. (Note: While I am not making any guarantee as to their ultimate reliability, both these cars should be drivable for purposes of transporting to a new home, and towards that end, we will make sure that they both have a fresh oil change and filter, as well as a full tank of premium fuel if a new owner wishes to come pick them up and drive home. Alternatively, I am happy to assist a transporter (of your choice, and under contract to You) in the loading of the car on a truck) We have had customers buy our restored cars from as far away as Vancouver, St. Louis, California, and Europe! 1st Choice - 1987 CRX Si, Rio Red, 97,446 miles, This car is the Real Deal, close to the Holy Grail of a 1g CR-XThe outside of the car is mostly original, and looks great in general, but up close it is obvious to see several small nicks and scratches which have been touched up. The car exhibits what is called in the collector car community, a mild "patina" of originality. On the inside, the car is exceptionally clean, the carpet and seats are not torn and the cargo area and spare tire area appear almost new (the spare doesn't appear to have ever been used!)The car comes with a 3-ring binder filled with service documentation since new! including original purchase and window label. Some Original Hondaline accessories that come with the car - Original Dealer Mud flaps, Full set, both Front and Rear (no longer available)- Honda OEM Rear Speaker mounts and grilled covers (unavailable) ($100+) - Air Conditioning Honda Authorized Aftermarket Performance upgrades- full set of Mugen RG 15" alloys ($850+)- Mugen torsion bars (no longer available) ($300)- Mugen internal sway bar (no longer available) ($200) Additional Aftermarket Performance Upgrades- Rebuilt gearbox from Ultracare ($400-600)- Dual diaphram stage 3 clutch with Clutchnet unsprung Kevlar disc ($400, grabs Very strong!)- DC Sports Ceramic coated 4-2-1 header (no longer available, worth $400)- Magnaflow high flow cat and all upgraded 2" piping from header back. ($300)- HKS cold air intake w/ carb legal sticker ($120)- Tokico illuminas (no longer available) ($400) - Eibach Ground control coilovers (no longer available) ($120) - Lightspeed drilled and vented front rotors (no longer available) - Goodridge stainless brake lines all around ($100)- Lightspeed Antiroll bars - both Front and Rear (no longer available) ($220) Additional Installed upgrades- Full custom audio setup with Soundstream Amp (supposedly a $1000 system when new)- Clifford alarm with keyless entry ($200) - Nology ground wires ($50) Additional Rare and Highly sought after Parts which I am willing to offer with the car ONLY if it sells for the Buy if Now price- Carbon fiber one piece hood (replaces both OEM hood and plastic nose panel $400)- Lightspeed strut bar (no longer available) ($120)- Hondaline retractable cargo area cover (retracts like a rolled up window shade)- Hondaline custom car cover This car rides like no other CRX and has got to be experienced to be believed. It's takes corners like its on rails and handles like the ultimate slot car... it's definitely not for the faint of heart!Yet, all of the upgrades are reversible, and most of them are "stealth" so the car still looks mostly stock, and not like some grotesque mess that a kid slapped together in his garage! On top of that, it's a very well preserved and well known CRX in the 1g CRX community nationwide, and especially in California and the west coast where it spent most of it's life. Now, its available here on the east coast for someone who wants what could be Ultimate old school CRX. Note: This would be an ideal car for a 1) ZC / D16A twin cam swap(brown top or black top Integra motor)and 2) Rear disc conversion....... GO FOR IT!!!- Now, without further ado.... we present to you a selection of close up shots of the Mugen car (scroll down all the way to see details on the non-Mugen car) ====================== END OF MUGEN CAR PHOTOS ================== CAR #2 2nd Choice - 1987 CRX Si, Rio Red, 109,xxx miles, This car is for someone who is looking for a high quality stock looking Si.This car was owned for many years in Arizona, and it shows! There is not a spec of rust on the chassis, and for someone who wants a pristine chassis/body to do a show quality build, this example is easily worth taking to the next level... When I found the car about 8 years ago out west, I knew that I had to have it, and paid $1,000 just to bring it back east. Earlier this year we pulled it out of storage and took off all the old cracked plastic panels and treated the car to one of my best sets of undamaged plastic panels. ALL plastic panels on this car are either undamaged good original or rebuilt to stronger than new specs! NO CRACKS ON ANY PLASTICS**(We pride ourselves here in our ability to restore the original plastic panels on these cars to look as good as new, and to be more resistant to cracking than the original design ever was. To our knowledge, nobody else in the CRX world has developed the techniques to do this as reliably as we can. You will not (short of buying hugely expensive custom made carbon fiber replica panels) find another 1st gen CRX with plastic nose, fender, and side panels that look at good as the ones on this car!!)** . Some Original Hondaline accessories the car is equipped with - Rear Speaker covers (unavailable) ($100+)- Air Conditioning Additional Aftermarket Performance Upgrades- 4-1 header (no label to indicate brand)- Tokico shocks in back - Lightspeed rear Antiroll bar A Partial list of restoration and service work which was done on the car to bring it up to its current condition- replaced starter motor- replaced rear hatch struts (new Stabilus units) - fresh Kumho 185/60-14 tires- most coolant lines replaced- complete trim off repaint in original Rio Red 2 stage base clearwindow seals, rain gutter trim, side moldings, many other rubber and plastic trim parts restored or replaced- Sunroof removed, cleaned, lubricated, reinstalled and tested to function smoothly and properly-- much more.... Now, if you scroll down, you will find a selection of detail shots of this car (VIN JHMEC1341HS030981) Please scroll all the way down to see a few shots of other CRX's we've restored recently, and a sneak peak at a few projects which are available for someone who is interested to have one of our cars finished to their personal order.... + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + About us - CRXpertWe are the only shop on the east coast of the US which for the past 8 years has specialized in the correct and proper restoration of Honda CRX cars. As these cars are now at least 25, and in some cases more than 30 years old, they have passed the time of being simply 'used cars', and have entered the domain of becoming a true classic, or 'vintage collectible' car. While other tuning shops are focused on doing swaps and other customization to the 1980's-90's era CRX's and Civics, we have decided to use our deep experience in the world of high end ($40,000-$250,000) vintage European classic restorations to focus on doing correct and proper RESTORATION work to bring these cars back as close as possible to how they looked when they appeared in Honda showrooms. This is no easy task, as Honda does not support their cars after they have reached this age and virtually no NOS parts are available for the CRX at this point in time. Therefore, we have gone to great lengths to search out, find, and horde as many NOS and good condition used parts for these cars as possible, and also we have developed specific techniques to restore and refurbish parts of the cars (such as the plastic body panels and rubber moldings) that are simply not available anymore. The work we do here on our Civics and CRX's is a Labor of LOVE. After spending 100's of hours bringing these cars up to the level of quality and appearance you see here, we could not possibly recoup the investment we have in time and materials, even if the cars sell at or above our asking price! If you have a 3g or 4g Civic or 1g or 2g CRX which you've been hoping to bring back to its former glory and would like the help of a shop which knows exactly what it takes to do this, feel free to contact us. Our shop rates are very reasonable,(for Honda's only) and we have a limited amount of unbooked time for the coming winter season and would be happy to discuss a restoration project specifically tailored to your wishes. ===================================================================== Here for your enjoyment are few examples of recent CRX Restorations which we have done ===================================================================== 1987 CRX Si - Total body restoration including rebuilding plastic panels and full repaint on a nearly rustfree body from Arizona 1991 CRX Si - A 50k original mile example fresh out of the paint shop and looking close to how it did sitting in the showroom 25 years ago! 1986 CRX Si - A Full trim and body panel off restoration and repaint, along with fresh interior and seats =========================================================== SOME UPCOMING PROJECTS WHICH ARE AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION! =========================================================== 1984 Civic DX, August 1983 production, VIN 001147(!!) one of the earliest surviving 3G Civics in existence! 1984 Civic S, the grand-daddy of all Civic Si's - this example is a true gem, an absolutely rustfree example, all original except paint 1986 CRX Si - AN ABSOLUTELY PRISTINE RUSTFREE example from South Carolina with fresh Alpine White Paint (photos coming soon....) 1989 CRX Si - A "One owner" car for most of its life, and cared for like it was a million $ Ferrari...
