Vehicle Detail

Very rare combination of Yellow Gold exterior (50 / 8740) with 19D black/grey conteur custom cloth interior. Only 4,599 Camaro’s were painted yellow gold for 1985 (fewest of the paint codes available for an IROC-Z) – how many were IROC-Z’s with T-Tops and this interior? Probably not many. Drivers side of the car was painted at some point, and is closer to original shade of yellow gold. Rest of car has a nice patina effect, for a very mellow color. There are some blemishes in the paint, as you would expect from a 30 year old car with 70% original paint, but no rust, and no big dents. Front bumper has some discoloration as shown in picture, and scuffs/chips on the drivers side ground effects are shown. Also, the front bumper was drilled for headlight covers (probably by original owner) - do not have the covers, but mounting attachments are still in bumper cover. Have original owners manual and books, in dealer supplied folder. Books are in good shape, folder is in poor shape. Stereo has been replaced with a CD player, that works well. Interior is in surprisingly good, original condition, but driver's seat has some wear as pictured, and there is a hole in one of the rear seats, also pictured. Headliner is in good shape, and not sagging. The luggage compartment cover is in good condition, and the original T-Top bag is in place. Original spare and jack are in the car. Highly optioned, and all power options are working. Power steering, brakes, windows, locks, hatch release, rear defogger, overhead console, tilt wheel, power drivers seat. T-Tops are original to car, as the door lock key matches the locks on the tops, and they function properly. All lights work, including dash lights. Just over 112k miles, and a great driver. 305 Tuned Port Injection engine, with the automatic overdrive transmission. A/C compressor replaced last year, and converted to 134a – blows ice cold! Heat works well too. Engine mounts and brake hoses replaced last year. Transmission serviced this summer. Drives, handles and runs well. Engine pulls strong, and transmission shifts are firm. Cruise control works. Horn does not work, and trip odometer stopped working, but odometer still works correctly. Tires are Kuhmo's and are in good condition, probably less than 10,000 miles on them. Wheels are correct IROC rims, front and rear. Brake pedal seems soft, but car stops straight without issue. A pump or two and they feel solid. Had to replace the front calipers because one was stuck recently. We took this car on a 2,200 mile road trip last year, and I have really enjoyed owning it. Always draws attention wherever you go, and strangers usually stop to chat while you're filling it up with gas. It's a fun car to drive, especially with the tops out. I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere, but I have other projects that need attention so it's time to pass this one along for the next owner to enjoy. Please ask any questions before you bid, and vehicle will be available for inspection in Olathe, KS. I will try my best to respond to any questions promptly, and ALL SALES ARE FINAL. Vehicle will be available for pick up from my house, and $500 deposit due within 24 hours of auction end.
