Vehicle Detail
2001 Honda Civic GX Up for auction- 2001 Honda Civic GX, runs on CNG (Compressed Natural Gas), not regular gasoline. These are excellent vehicles- cheap to run, super clean (ultra low emissions), and peppy. This one is in great shape, with just over 40k on the odometer. It has power windows and locks and mirrors, tilt steering, cruise control, A/C, and AM/FM cassette. This vehicle has not been converted- it was manufactured by Honda as a CNG vehicle. Fuel is cheaper than gasoline, and will stay cheap even when gasoline goes back up (natural gas is produced in the US rather than imported from overseas). The only catch is that you have to live near a CNG station. This is great for commuting. There are also CNG compressors that you can buy that hook up to your home natural gas that compress the natural gas that is piped to your home (called "Phill" or Fuelmaker systems). This car has only 40k, so it is in excellent shape mechanically. There are a couple of minor cosmetic issues. There are some small dings in the hood and roof- it looks like it was hit by some large hail or golf balls. This is not very noticeable except when the light hits it just right. There are also some scratches on the doors where there were stickers that someone used a razor blade to remove. Again, not terribly noticeable, but they are there. The only other issue is the fuel tank. The fuel tank is in perfect shape, but they are only rated for 15 years, so it is time to replace the tank. That does not mean that the current fuel tank can not be used, but it should be replaced fairly soon just to be entirely safe. The tanks are available online for $1095, and that will buy you another 15 years. This is an excellent commuter car that is cheap to fuel and super low on emissions. These cars cost $29k new. The tank is full, and it is ready to drive anywhere, just be sure to keep track of where the refueling stations are. I welcome you to come by and test drive it if you are in the area. If you are out of the area, I will work with shippers if you wish to ship it. Ask any questions you have before bidding. Sold as-is, where is.
