Vehicle Detail
1985 BMW M6 "M635" 2 DOOR COUPE, This is a rare European gray market import model. It is claimed to be 400lb lighter than the US models. It also has more horsepower, 286vs256, compared to the US models. S38 B35 engine. It may not be a rocket by modern standards, but it is definitely very quick. It actually feels faster than my 1982 porsche 911 SC. Best of all is the sound from that sweet inline 6 BMW M1 derived engine! You will never grow tired of it. Lots of documentation and service history. Recent brake job. Recent wheel alignment. Rust free. The color is dolphin gray metallic, and is by many considered the best color for the E24 body. You can judge by the pictures, but in real life it looks even better. It looks absolutely magnificent! The car gets loads of positive attention, anywhere you go. Interior of this car is black leather sports seats. New carpet recently installed. Dash board is almost perfect, no cracks, only one dime size blemish in an out of view position. It comes with two sets of wheels. It currently wears a set of BBS Style 5 17" with fresh tires. Included is a set of Factory BBS RS 061 three-piece wheels, which are very sought after. Value of these are now between $1000 and $2000! BMW discontinued these due to reliability problems. The ones included are recently refurbished and one of them has been professionally repaired. They are great for show use and originality. This car touches all the senses of a piston-head. Great looks, fantastic sound, good performance, nimble handling. All of this while you are snugly and comfortably seated in an Air conditioned coupe. Also has electric sunroof. It is just as good for long trips, as for short trips to local classic car events. It gets pretty good gas mileage too. I valued this car out of the 1987 BMW M6 value quote I got from Hagerty. I consider it as a Vehicle Condition 3. It might be difficult to judge from the pictures why this is not a Condition 2 car. Here are the underlying facts that I used to decide on condition. Not original paint. It has a fresh, professional paint job. Windows etc. were out. Body was in excellent shape before the paint job, but the original paint had been damaged by the sun, and was impossible to get to shine. The odometer does not work (as on many E24). Mileage can therefore not be confirmed, Mileage is estimated, based on service records. Odometer reads 65,800 miles. Owner history is known, so one might be able to do a better estimate, if you track down and interview the previous owners. Interior is not as delivered from the factory. It was delivered with Comfort Seats, but has now the much more comfortable Sports Seats. Also the interior color was originally tan. The front seats are in good condition for their age, with one small tear, and the rear seats look good, but would benefit from a re-upholstery. Carpet is new, but non-OEM. Original toolbox is there, but tools have gone missing. Original BMW tools are readily available on eBay Exhaust is probably not original, but works well. No catalytic converter, as when originally delivered in Germany. Nice sound, but not too loud. And quite silent at highway speeds. Buyer is responsible to arrange shipping or pick-up. $1000 non-refundable deposit required immediately for winning bid, and complete transaction within 3 days. Pick-up within 2 weeks. International bidders are welcome, but the same rules apply. If you need more time, I can arrange storage, at $50/week. Many of these Euro models have been exported back to Europe due to the high value they hold there, and the fact that the US cars generally are rust free. These are becoming more and more rare in the States. I am happy to sell abroad, but it would be nice to see it stay. Happy bidding! Buy Now Price: $24,900
