Vehicle Detail
1952 International Harvester L110 Panel / Delivery Van. Running and driving. Had an exterior restoration about 20+ years ago (not to original color). Was used on occasion for the business as listed on the decals (I kept the International after I sold the business), and has not been used except rarely for about the last 15 years. It's got the factory 16" wheels and hubcabs. Three speed transmission (3 on the tree). Original motor dropped a valve after a valve adjustment (following restoration), so the motor that's in there is from a 1968 pickup (I believe it's a 240). Hybrid voltage conversion - conversion to 12 volts, including installation of alternator, but gauges and heater at factory 6 volts. Original motor is still available, can negotiate figuring out how to include it, if desired. Not just used around town, also driven to towns 60 or so miles away. It's got turn signals, brake lights, one headlight working (I think the other light has a loose wire/connection, as it used to work fine). Wipers work, original heater works. What's not working at the moment is the horn, one of the instrument lights, and the parking lights on the back. However, the light issues might also be a dirty light switch, as turning it on and off a few times initially got the lights working. Seat is not original - it originally came from the factory with a bucket seat. This is from a dry region (Central Oregon), so it's in great shape, metal is solid, and only a few areas of common rust (behind side doors, right above running boards). Odometer says 56966, odometer works, but due to age, actual mileage is unknown. I also changed the side emblems from the very thin stamped, to the heavier cast/chromed ones. I couldn't find any heavy L-110 emblems, so that's why it has L-120's on it now. Pros; Starts right up, runs and drivesBrakes were new at completion of restorationIt's driveable, and may be street-legal in your area with a little bit of work (again, horn and parking lights need attention, should bleed brakes again)Original wheels, hubcaps, door hinge mirror mount CLEAN TITLENew glass in back doors, main door windowsBack doors work, newer hinges at restoration Heater worksI believe most of the gauges work, and the speedometer worksNew clutch was installed at time of motor swapWheel brake cylinders were replaced at time of restoration (but not the brake master) Cons;brake master loses fluid if vehicle is not used regularlyleft front tire has a slow leaktires are old, starting to check missing interior trim on doorsclear coat coming off in several areas, so it will need repainting old bodywork needs redonerust bubbles forming behind doors, above running boards (very common for these)front windshield has a crackback door latch is missing the lock in the handleit's slow - maximum speed of about 55mphinterior is original, rough and incomplete actual mileage is unknownbattery is older, may not hold a charge I would NOT drive this any great distance - it's over 60 years old, and should be gone through, brakes bled, etc, before hitting the road. It is not currently licensed. I have done my best to describe the vehicle to the best of my knowledge. Again, it is over 60 years old, and there are no warranties, implied or expressed. If you have questions, please ask. I am happy to work with an inspector of your choice coming out and inspecting the vehicle. The reserve price is fair - please don't worry about what the reserve is (questions inquiring as to such will be ignored), simply bid what you're comfortable bidding, or would buy it for. Happy to help work with the shipper of your choice. If you're not too far away, delivery might be negotiable. Vehicle will also be listed for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end the listing early. No overseas buyers, thank you. When you find these, they're typically incomplete, inoperable shells that need a lot of mechanical work. Now is a rare chance to own a running, driving 50's panel van.
