Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a 1956 Studebaker Golden Hawk. It is equipped with the Packard 352 V8 and Ultramatic automatic transmission and power steering. It shows 167, 628 miles and is being offered with NO RESERVE. Mechanical: The car is equipped with the Packard 352 V8, four-barrel carburetor, power steering and Ultramatic automatic transmission. The car runs, drives and stops. The transmission operates in all ranges. Car is fitted with an aftermarket transmission cooler. Power steering functions. Engine shows good oil pressure at idle (see pictures). Starts well, but is somewhat rough at idle. Smokes a bit at startup. Car shows 167,628 miles - previous owner added the "1" to the odometer to indicate it had rolled over. Exterior: Paint is in fair condition at best. Car was originally Mocha and Snowcap White but was repainted gold in early 1970s and some body work was done in the rockers and fenders (see pictures). There is evidence of bondo in the fenders and rockers (see photos). Paint is crazing and has visible scars and areas of paint loss. Rust is popping through in fenders and rocker areas (see photos). Chrome is fair to good - some pitting on die cast pieces. Windshield surround has ding on passenger side. Hubcap insets received amateur repaint. Doors have some sag in the hinges, but open and shut well considering the mileage. Doors are very solid underneath. Tires are very old. Interior: Interior appears to have been redone at some point. Headliner is non-stock. Seats are in good condition except for trauma to driver's side seat back. Structural: Frame and hog troughs appear to be in excellent shape (see pictures). Trunk corners are solid (see pictures). Questions/Additional Pictures: Please email with questions or for additional pictures or call Andy at (574) 532-8352. Car may be viewed by appointment. Other: Car is sold as is, where is, with no warranty of any kind. Will sell U.S. only. Will not ship - buyer is responsible for transportation arrangements. Proceeds benefit the Studebaker National Museum (seller). Seller accepts cash, certified funds (cashier's check, money order), Visa, MC, Discover and Amex. Title is in hand and will be accompanied by bill of sale. Total due within three days of conclusion of auction. Vehicle must be picked up within ten days of conclusion of auction. Title will be released when car is picked up. On Nov-03-15 at 06:06:52 PST, seller added the following information: The car has a hood from a 1957-61 Hawk. Has oil leak from front main seal area -drips when running. Has exhaust leak - sounds like flange gasket. Has correct driver's side exhaust manifold flange extension in place with heat riser. Car is fitted with a rear sway bar and has later link-style front sway bar. Vacuum gauge does not function, but clock and tachometer do. Horn is not operative, wire is disconnected from relay. Windshield has wiper marks on passenger side. Sale includes extra parts in trunk (partially pictured) various hoses, used fuel pump, manuals, tailpipe, used window regulators and wheel. Has original jack in place. As always, please email or call with questions or for additional pictures, and car may be viewed by appointment.
