This 1995 Lexus was owned by a retiree in this retirement village which is 55 miles north of Orlando. The Lexus was donated to St, Vincent De Paul at St. Timothy's Church as a donation for a poor family but the organization usually turns foreign cars into cash to assist needy families. I helped the organization pick up the Lexus. It is in fair condition and has a transmission problem. I drove the car about 15 miles - when the transmission fluid was cold, it did not shift properly. After it warmed up, the transmission was better. It might be a bad O-ring, or gasket or whatever. The Lexus drove very nice and has good tires. The car has not been cleaned up so it is just as we drove it out of the owner's garage. The owner told us that the oil was changed every 3,000 miles and I believe that. The oil today looks good. Even though the Lexus has 190,801 miles, the engine sounds very strong. If anyone can solve the transmission problem, I feel that this car has another 100,000 miles left. There are many mechanically-minded people around who could turn this Lexus into a nice car. If you are at the mercy of a Lexus dealer to repair this, do not purchase it. If you are within an hour of The Villages, FL 32159, I feel that it would be okay to drive it home. If you live further away, I would suggest putting it on a trailer.
