Originally a California truck, completely restored by an old Studebaker mechanic; purchased by a noted automotive author in CA. Subsequently, purchased by it's 3rd owner from Georgia in 2008, who drove her approx. 4,500 miles. I have driven approximately 10K miles since purchasing in Oct. 2011. This truck is my daily driver on nice/most days and is well sorted out mechanically, serviced by professional mechanics, who know and appreciate older cars/trucks. Recently rebuilt steering gear box and front suspension, as well as a complete tuneup and new fluids ($1400). Everything works as it should, except the orig. radio. The after-market A/C, installed by the Ga. owner, could use service, but functions properly. Front tires are 60% worn. The body is very straight with minimal filler. The paint is an older respray of the original color and very presentable, with a nice, matt patina. Small scratches and dings in the usual places, but no serious rust, beyond surface spots, including lower inner tailgate and a few bubbles on passenger rocker. The interior/dash is redone and is very presentable. This truck is very reliable, starts, runs and shifts smoothly and goes straight down the road. I am a long time Studebaker collector and Driver's Club member. This is one fine truck, worthy of further investment, but needs nothing to be your primary use or weekend vehicle.
