This is a NO RESERVE auction so it will sell regardless of price. Read the complete description and ask questions before bidding if you have any questions at all. This is a 1948 Oldsmobile 68 with the "straight 8" inline 8 cylinder engine and "Hydramatic Drive" automatic transmission with 200 miles on a full rebuild. Same owner since 1976. Both the engine and transmission were rebuilt in '87 (see pictures for copies of receipts) and the car has been in indoor storage since. Started and driven a bit every few years since. A small gas tank was hooked to the fuel pump when ran so the gas line and gas tank will have to be cleaned out. Brakes work good. Tires are shot but hold air. Transmission works good in all speeds hi/lo/rev. One lower chrome trim piece is missing. Doors open and close ok. Glass is ok and the windows all go up and down nice (right windows have a couple cracks but solid). Right taillight is missing. A few minor dings hear and there. Headlights work on both hi and low beam, instrument panel lights up, taillights not working. Radio included not working. Heater included not hooked up. Speedometer shows 99406 miles. Engine starts nice and runs excellent with good oil pressure. The car starts, runs, and drives nice but the car will need a full restoration to make it right. It all depends on how far you want to go with it. Very desirable body style and a 2 Door Coupe to boot. Water pump needs to be taken off and put a new gasket where it bolts to the front of the motor - leaks a bit - water pump is good tho. Don't have the keys so you have to switch it on/off with a pliers. I have a new starter solinoid included but it needs to be installed - have to engage the starter manually to start the car. The interior is original so the seats have rips in them (mainly on the front seat - back seat is pretty good) and the floor carpet/rubber is pretty crappy. Headliner is original and intact in decent shape. Rust is not a huge issue on this car, some surface rust, a few rust holes but overall a very solid car. The car ain't perfect but its got all the right stuff to make it a real nice collector car investment with a little bit of work. This is no junkyard rusted out car, it is a well taken care of car that just needs finishing. It comes with a clear transferable Minnesota title.
