1963 ROCHDALE OLYMPIC PHASE 2 CHASSIS # 631802 3 OR 4 OWNER CAR. LAST OWNER SINCE 1982 IN MISSOURI. FORD 1500 CORTINA GT? MOTOR. NOT RUNNING BUT ENGINE TURNS, ONE OF 150 PHASE 2 CARS MADE. I CONTACTED THE ROCHDALE OWNERS CLUB AND WAS PROVIDED THIS INFORMATION- The Olympic was ordered in 1963 by an English man named Robin Rackman who lived in Chicago, Illinor and he was an Airline Pilot. He flew with his wife over to England in July 1963 to collect the Olympic. The Olympic was registered in England in July 1963 on Licence plate 5348 DK and Chassis Number/VIN Number 631802, the 1802 is the Order Invoice number in the Factory Sales Ledger. Robin and his wife then set of on a 6-week tour of Europe in the Olympic, finishing up in Rotterdam, Holland where he flew back to America and the Olympic was shipped by sea back to Chicago. With a family on the way, Robin decided to sell it with an advert in Road & Track in the late summer of 1964. He only got one response from a young chap who lived in Kansas, he turned up with $2000 and disappeared into the sunset and that is the last we heard of the Olympic till you contacted us. The Olympic has been lost for 51 years. Attached is a photo of the car in Chicago in October 1963. We in the Rochdale Owners Club back here in England are very pleased to learn that this Olympic after having been lost for 51 years still survives it what looks to be in very good condition. We believe 8 Olympics were sent to America/Canada and this makes 4 that are now known to have survived. THE REAR HATCH WONT LOCK. HOOD IS NOT ATTACHED. I DO HAVE THE THE REAR LICENSE PLATE LIGHT THAT FITS IN THE HOLE BELOW THE REAR HATCH . YOU CAN SEE IT IN THE PARTS PHOTO. A VERY RARE CAR .
