Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is my 1991 Geo Metro XFi. I bought this Metro a couple years ago as a fun side project, but unfortunately didn't get to drive it as much as I would like. It's time for a new roof on the house, so one of the extra cars has to go. If you're viewing this auction, you probably already know quite a bit about Geo Metros, but if not, make sure to Google the XFi model. The original fuel saver car... people get 50+ mpg easily without modifications. Filled it up with gas today and it took a whopping $16 when it was near empty. As far as I can tell this car has 80,515 original miles! The previous owner told me they checked with the state when registering it, and there was no record of the odometer rolling over. When I ran a CarFax on it, nothing showed reason to believe the milage wasn't accurate. Car is solid overall. I had a brand new windshield put in it because the old one had a crack that wouldn't pass state inspection. Replaced the air filter, spark plugs, and new Bosch cap, rotor, and plug wires when I bought it. No check engine light on. Heat blows hot, car doesn't have any temperature problems, and the radiator fan cycles on and off like it should. Some rust and a dent on the passenger side, only rust hole I found was on the bottom of the passenger side door. The small muffler in the middle part of the exhaust had holes in it, so it was replaced with a section of exhaust pipe. Exhaust is a little rattly. I think it's hitting a heat shield. The engine runs great and doesn't seem to burn any oil, but as you can see in the one picture it is weeping oil, maybe at the oil pan gasket? Nothing enough to leave marks in the driveway. Breaks have some rust on them from it sitting, but it should wear right off. Braking isn't affected and there isn't any shuddering, pulsating pedal, etc when braking. The previous owner lost the keys... they replaced the steering column with a different one that came with a key. It didn't have a steering column cover when I bought it, so I fit it with one from a different year Metro. Doesn't really fit, but covers it up. I have the ignition key, but no key for the doors. I've read that the passenger door panel can be removed, and there is a 4 digit code on the lock cylinder that can be used to have a locksmith cut a new key. I just haven't had a need to lock it so I never did it. Back hatch doesn't stay up on its own, could use new shocks and it'll be good as new. I took a bunch of pictures to try to show everything... if you don't see a picture you're looking for, please ask and I'll get it for you! Please know that I've described everything as best as I can, but I am not a mechanic. Any questions, I'll try to answer them best I can. If anyone is near by or wants to travel to look at the car or drive it, feel free! As is the case with most used cars, sold as is. Feel free to call or text me with any questions: 802-535-9863 or contact me through eBay.
