Vehicle Detail
This car is being relisted due to a bogus bid by this international bidder- jarek59aga, jarek.mazur@opotza.pl , in Slaskie 42660, Poland. All international bidders must contact me prior to placing any bid, Ed at (405) 612-1932 U.S. bidders with less than 3 buys must contact me prior to bidding. I bought this car where it had been sitting for 61 years after having a new motor installed in 1954, after striking a speed bump striking the oil plug developing a leak in the High School parking lot in Hayes, Kansas at his grand daughters high school graduation in the spring of 1954. The new motor was installed by the Pontiac and GMC dealer in Collyer, Kansas. The car was returned to the owner, driven approximately 500 miles and returned to the dealership as instructed. The owner walked home that evening as it was only 5-blocks from home. The owner had a heart attack and past away that evening in his chair. The car was placed on blocks and remained there until I bought the car in August of 2013. No one in the family wanted the car. The dealership was close sometime in the mid '60s and was turned into a bar a number of years later called the "Pontiac Bar and Grill" and still exists at that location today. The body fenders doors and hood are rust-free there are minimal scratches and dings. The chrome is in good condition, there are some dents in the front grille. The center of the floor-pans have rusted holes, should be replaced. There is a lot of extra dash components including instrument cluster, radio speaker, clock, and glove box door that are in the trunk, including the spare tire, (Olds) hubcaps and 15" beauty rings. The original straight-8 motor that was installed in 1954 is locked up from moisture. We tried to free the motor but were unsuccessful. The reason I bought the car in the first place was not because of the straight-8 but because I have a 1957 Pontiac 347cu motor and Hydromatic transmission out of a 1957 Pontiac Safari wagon. The motor and transmission are still together along with power steering pump, generator, starter, distributor, and 4-barrel carburetor. The motor and transmission, and all parts, is included in this auction, this would be an easy transplant you wouldn't even have to change the driveshaft. With this engine, paint and interior work, you'll have a hell of a nice car or rad-rod, and you can take your friends with you and not be crushed getting in and out of the front seat (like 2-door cars). I personally love 4-door automobiles and got over 2-door cars in the '50s and '60s. The seller reserves the right to end auction early because vehicle is listed in other venues. If you have questions or need more information, please call Ed at (405) 612-1932. No emails, phone messages or texts, they will not be answered! I am not computer savvy. Successful bidder must submit a $500 Deposit within 24 hours of the auction closing and the balance is due in 7-days in the form of cash or bank wire transfer. Buyer is responsible for pick-up and any shipping arrangements. We will assist in helping with loading or with your shipper of this vehicle. Also we can store vehicle for a reasonable amount of time. If you see other cars or truck they are all going to be listed and are for sale locally as I am selling a few other vehicles also. Good Luck Bidding. Thanks - Ed. If you have questions please just call me (405) 612-1932.
