Vehicle Detail
I'm selling our 2007 Cadillac Escalade EXT which we have owned since November of 2009. It is a rare blue-green color, and simply loaded with all the amenities which were available for this model year. This is the first year of the new model redesign, which remained unchanged until the vehicle was discontinued about 2 years ago. It has the highly sought after 6.2L engine, which has 150,000 miles, about 85-90% of these being highway miles, and about 5% of these spent towing a boat. Compression is perfect, oil changes with 5W30 full synthetic oil have been performed at each 5000 km (3000 miles), and it runs flawlessly. Updates to the ECM and TCM (transmission control module) were performed by our local dealer 2 years ago. It has had the engine oil pump replaced in 2012 due to a stuck pressure release valve, and the oil pressure sender was replaced at the same time. Both front hubs were replaced in December 2013. Brakes have been serviced approximately every 3 years with pad and rotor replacement, with the most recent service in June of this year. The alternator was replaced in July of this year. The exterior is in very good condition, particularly given the truck's mileage. There are no dents, and there is no rust. There are multiple small paint chips to the hood from flying gravel, and some behind the wheel wheels on the lower fenders, nothing more than one would expect for a 2007 vehicle. We do tow a boat, and there are some surface cuts to the rear bumper cover from striking the trailer coupler. A few years ago a board with a nail fell onto the rear spoiler top surface, causing a small hole in the top left side of it. It is purely cosmetic. The original rims were becoming oxidized and a bit rusty, and I was able to find a new replacement set 18 months ago, so these are in fantastic condition, as the photos reveal. The rear tires were replaced last month due to a puncture (the pair was replaced for symmetry). The front LTX MS2 tires have 50% tread wear remaining, according to Costco at the time the rears were replaced. The windshield has a crack, and will be replaced prior to delivery. The interior is also very good, and exceptionally clean. The leather seats have a bit of checking, also consistent with the model year. There are no cracks and they are supple. There is a tiny cut in the seat base of one of the rear seats which was present when we purchased the vehicle. It has not enlarged or deteriorated in any way. The seats are exceptionally supportive yet comfortable. There is no driver or passenger fatigue when travelling in the Escalade- it will spoil you for anything else! The interior and exterior have been freshly detailed, including a cut polish and wax. The vehicle's systems work very well. The navigation system works flawlessly, though it has the original 2007 nav DVD and should be updated. Climate control and stereo systems work perfectly. The sound from the Bose/Cadillac stereo system is beyond compare. When we purchased the vehicle it had operational XM. For the first 1-2 years we waited for the day the subscription was no longer valid, and we needed to start paying the monthly subscription fee. After 6 years of continuous XM radio, I believe I can safely say that this vehicle is sold with a lifetime XM radio subscription! It has fantastic Xenon headlights with an auto dimmer setting that works perfectly. This vehicle came standard with auto levelling suspension. Generally, these eventually malfunction, and many are converted to a standard coil spring system. We have maintained the air system, but with a manual switch at the dash to inflate the air bags. These are only required when towing or hauling a heavy load. 15-25 seconds holding the switch gives all the load levelling required, then just a few seconds every 20-30 minutes while towing/hauling. It's a simple, effective fix for the generally complex and not-so-reliable automatic system. This has been a very good, though not perfect, vehicle for us. It has remarkable traction in winter, excellent handling in any unsettled weather, and is a joy to drive. We find it averages 18-19 US mpg on the highway, and is a pig around town. On the down side, these Cadillacs are heavy with electronic gadgetry, and sometimes it stops working. We own Toyotas as well, which in our experience are a bit more reliable. However, we have stayed on top of service and maintenance issues, and with the few exceptions listed above, everything works well. We have a new Mercedes SUV, hence the reason to sell the Escalade. We love it, and aren't desperate to sell. However, we recognize it has higher than average mileage for model year (because we have loved to travel in it), and have set the reserve at a reasonable level. Please dont ask the reserve, or whether we will sell the vehicle outside Ebay. That stated, the vehicle is listed for sale locally, and I reserve the right to end the auction early. This is a private sale, and no warranties are offered. This vehicle is in south central British Columbia, Canada. If desired, I will deliver to, but not across, the border crossing at either Sumas or Oroville, Washington, for a flat fee of $250 USD. Payment must be received in full prior to the provision of this service. Thanks for taking the time to view our listing! On Sep-19-15 at 20:44:49 PDT, seller added the following information: A couple clarifications:-- the rear gas shocks were replaced with new units made by Suncor in March 2014.-- The paint chips to the hood in the original description are tiny, superficial chips only to the leading edge of the hood. They are about what one would expect for a vehicle of this age.On Sep-20-15 at 12:03:31 PDT, seller added the following information: Update #2: When I was wiping down the exterior this morning I noticed a ding the size of a nickel on the right rear quarter panel immediately in front of the bumper edge. It is the type of thing typically done by a shopping cart. I am unable to upload a photo to the auction presently, but will keep trying. If you would like a photo please contact me through the auction and I can email a copy. Thanks George
