Vehicle Detail
1973 Ford F100 Ranger 4x4 with 428 V8 engine, manual 4 speed transmission; power steering and brakes. Original owners. It runs and handles well; it is a very enjoyable truck to drive and gets a lot of attention and compliments. The engine runs strong (it is hot!), does not smoke; has about 82,000 miles on it. It has a 428 fly wheel and 4 barrel carburetor. The truck originally had a 360 V8 and 2 barrel carburetor. The five digit odometer reads 81,227 but has turned. It was retired in 2001; before its retirement, the transmission was rebuilt, brake linings replaced and drums turned. The body is sound and has no rust or dents. It has never been in an accident. It has minor scratches on the passenger side and three small areas (apprx 1"-2") where the paint bubbled; they are not easily seen. It was taken from the original factory blue to the current blue in the late 1980's. Any rusty (minor) panels were replaced at that time. The engine bay and box have not been detailed. There is minor rust on the rims. The floor panels are solid. The dash and dome liner are very nice-no damage. It has like- new Highway LT tires; the 20th Century fiberglass topper has no cracks or damage. We have the original seat; it needs reupholstering. It has non-factory AC (probably needs service) and hitch. Before its retirement in 2001 (it was replaced with an F350), it was a Colorado truck, always garaged. It has been in storage (inside) in Kansas since 2001 until March of this year. After its retirement, it was used a few times for light work at our farm (where it was stored) but otherwise driven very little. It was running well when it was retired and when used for farm work, and we are not aware of any mechanical issues now. We do suggest it be fully serviced before being driven a long distance since it has been in storage and driven minimally since 2001. The oil has been changed and fresh fuel kept in the gas tank while it was in storage. Being sold AS IS.
