Vehicle Detail
1969 Jeep CJ Fire Truck. Minimal rust from indoor storage. This is a very doable project. Bought a rubicon unlimited so this one has to go. The fire Jeep was used on Appalachian trail to put out fire. For the right price will include watertank, PTO, V8, manual transmission, transfer case, two Meyers plow pumps, one meyers plow, winch and emergency lights. The transmission was rebuilt but never run so the oil never circulated and it has some rust inside.... The V6 blew a head gasket and froze it was thrown away. A chrysler 3.8 V6 fuel injected motor will bolt right in. The pontiac V8 I have will fit in it but requires more motor work and the motor mounts would need to be moved. I have over $2500 invested but need the space so my loss is your gain. Any reasonable offer considered. Wife says it has to go at any price. Plenty of better pics will be posted soon. Please feel free to ask questions. On Sep-18-15 at 15:44:06 PDT, seller added the following information: Thanks for the feedback that my add is confusing about what is included. Thanks for all the questions about condition and price. Updates below. Fireman's jeep / Plow Jeep and part of Appalachian trail history. The reserve is Currently 1500.00. I will include all accessories for that price including the plow and both PTOs. One PTO was engine mounted to run the water pump for the fire hose. The transfer case PTO is from the original factory equipment. One guy wants to use the transfer case PTO to put a backhoe on the back of the jeep which could be used to dig trenches to control fires. To that guy I say. "Neat thought you are very cool in my book" If I receive more feedback that I should sell the items separately than I will slash the reserve for the jeep and we can make a deal on the accessories. The drive line sold separately is easily worth $1300. If you are more interested in the plow and drive line than let me know and I will adjust accordingly. $1500 for everything seems like a good deal but I'm open to suggestions. Please help me verify these parts if you have questions and know how to verify. 1968 Pontiac V8 from a catalina - Started and ran solid before pulled. Stored in garage every since pulled. 4 barrel holly carb Original 3 speed trans Original transfer case with PTO - Dana 18 or 20. Help me figure out how to verify if the difference matters to youEngine mount PTO to run fire hoseAluminum water tank with hose reel Meyers Plow2 X Meyers plow pump. I do not have the joy stick to control the plow angles. 4 tires 1 inner tube included if you prefer to keep the saw blade tires 10,000 pound winch on frontemergency lights on front grill Clear title in my name in hand. Super rare fire/plow jeep from 1969. Rust? Added a picture of one rust whole in the passengers side near the tail light. Added a picture of solid floor pans. All rust seems to be surface rust accept for the one whole that is shown in the new pics which can easily be covered with a diamond plate corner wrap. Would love to see the jeep get clear coated and keep the original patina but that is your call. I guess they used better metal in 1969 as this Jeep is very solid. Frame looks good as well with surface rust only. If the price strategy that is listed does not work let me know and we will make a deal. Some are encouraging me to drop the reserve to 500 for the jeep only and sell everything separately. This was originally my dad's jeep from when he worked on the fire department. It was going to be our father son project. Would love to see it go to a new father son team in the area. I'm a very fair and reasonable guy. Just keep the feedback coming and I will adjust accordingly. Thanks for all the questions. Please try to ask questions via the listing so I can reply once and everyone can see the answer. If you want to send private messages about price that is fine. You may call me to discuss as well. 1969 Jeep CJ Fire / plow Truck. Minimal rust from indoor storage. This is a very doable project. I believe both motor options fit this 3 speed trans. novak-adapt dot com has great research info and kits. I have over $2500 invested but need the space so my loss is your gain.
