Vehicle Detail
1985 Buick Grand National - this is not your Father's Monte Carlo!!! I received this vehicle on trade for my 1968 Chevelle Malibu. I was going to keep it, but have decide G-body's are not my thing and would prefer to have the garage space to finish working on my 1971 Barracuda instead. History: This vehicle was in storage for the last 4 years in Omaha after coming here from Maryland, as part of a military transfer that was never completed. From what I gather this is a pretty hot sleeper. Previous owner pulled the motor to freshen everything up and prepare for the yet-to-be purchased intercooler install but got back from being deployed, had a life event, and sold the car to his friend where it sat for 4 years with multiple other project cars, until I got it. From what I understand, it just needs an intercooler to finish it off and put back together. I had the motor dropped in, so it can be transported with the car, but it will need everything hooked up and torqued to spec to get it moving under its own power (not in running order at current). It comes with a ton of paperwork (pictured) - most motor swap parts were purchased through gbodyparts.com out of Bethel, NC in 2011. Parts listed from previous are included on list: TA-44 turbo, 3" stainless downpipe, 86-87 IAC, ported throttle body, 224 billet g-body roller cam, Hot Wire fuel pump, 4.1 block (upgraded from the factory 3.8L 231 cubic inch V6), RJC girdle, billet mains, Scat crank, Eagle rods, Diamond forged racing pistons, ARP hardware, RJC deep sump oil pan, Alky kit, Metco 6.5 gallon alcohol fuel cell, 50 lb. injectors, Champion GN1 ported & polished heads, pedestal mount, solid lifters, built TH 200-4R (previous owner states rated up to 650-700 hp), 1-into-2 stainless steel 3" exhaust running through free-flowing mufflers (looks to be Flowmaster, unknown series), upgraded beefy radiator, 3 Gauge A-Pillar Pod cluster, lots of stainless steel braided lines. I will also include a bin of original parts: heads, valve covers, and oil pan. Also a couple boxes of new gaskets and brake pads are included. Turbo, intake, headers, high flow cat converter, spare tire, etc. - are stored safely in the trunk. Again, from what I can see, everything is here - but needs to be put together. This car has had a repaint in it's life as seen on the lower portion of the doors above the rocker panel, a tasteful fading checkered flag. I personally like it, but you'll have to decide. The paint is a 10 footer - great for daily driver quality, will need redone to be displayed at car shows. It has a scratch on the trunk lid that was touched up and the hood needs some love too as its has some paint peeling. Rest of car shows no signs of bubbles or rust from my walk around. Previous owner epoxied on some 1987 GNX fender louvers, but original-style, primered fenders will come with the car for you to swap over, if you'd like. Previous owner buffed the driver's side to show the luster the paint has potential for once cleaned - the rest of the car will need the buffed to match. Shows no signs of being in an accident. Has some near new but older cheaper tires, as (pictured is some dried dirt behind tire from splash in water that wasn't cleaned off before picture, not faded paint). Interior needs redone, it is worn through on passenger side bottom cushion and top of rear bench and driver's seat. Trunk inside looks perfect, as does underneath. Rear end is stock. Odometer shows 18,388 - I will assume the body has turned over once and is being sold as exempt, as I can not verify mileage. Being sold with a clear, Nebraska title. Seems this is a perfect car for someone who knows these rare G-body specimens and has the time, over the fall/winter, to put it back together or throw it in storage to sell in 20 years. As there were only 2,102 of these made in 1985 - these are likely to be increasingly collectable and sought after (for Grand National fans). I saw 2 of these at drag races this summer, and when you turn the wick up on them - they really go and are great for out-of-the-box fast and more unique car, rather than a Camaro or a fox-body Mustang. There's a great documentary on these cars. Please check out the link on You Tube under the title search: Black Air The Buick Grand National Documentary - Documentary, Biography, History [USA] full move. This Vader car is being sold AS-IS with no warranty expressed or implied. Shipping is up to you to organize. I require a $2000 down payment within 24 hours after action ends. I can store it FREE for 2 weeks, after that we'll need to work out storage costs, or you can have it moved to another location, that is not in my garage. If you need to ask your wife for money, this is not for you. Big Boy Toys - require REAL money - please do not bid if you can't pay. If you do not have eBay history and are a first time bidder/outside of USA, please send me a message to let me know regarding your qualified funds or your bid will be cancelled. Please, no stories about your old car - I'm sure they are fantastic, but save that compelling story for your family and muscle car buddies, when you WIN this action and have this shipped to your house. That being said, I reserve the right to end auction at any time. Thanks for looking and good luck!
