Vehicle Detail
Here for sale is a very attractive 1970 Plymouth Duster with a 340 engine. This car started life as a 6 cylinder. I purchased it from a retired police officer who replaced the complete drive train, everything is either rebuilt or replaced. I was told the engine is a 1972 340 with the X heads, has a very nice cam, torquer intake with an Elderbroch carb. Everything in the engine compartment is new, that includes all accessories including headers, new exhaust with Flow Masters, rebuilt transmission, rebuilt rearend with a 370 gear ratio, all new brakes in the rear, for the front there are new backing plates, bearings, rotors, calipers, lines (hard and soft, front to back). The car runs and drives great. The car was painted 11 years ago when it was built and hasn't been driven a hundred miles, always garaged kept, new vinyl top, new wheels and tires. I restore cars for a living, I do a lot of high end vehicles, this car is a very nice driver, it is not a show car but looks as good as it does in the photos. The dash needs a little detailing as do the door jams, nothing serious just something that would take a little time. The trunk is in very solid condition, looks like somebody did it in POR 13, no weak spots. The underside of the car is in beautiful condition with the exception of a patch behind the passenger seat, nothing major. It also has frame connectors. I will take detailed photos of the undercarraige and add them to the photobucket link below as I feel that upon viewing them it will give anyone bidding a high level of confidence in bidding on this Duster. I also want to mention, the front end is completely rebuilt along with all new shocks, new radiator, condensor and vintage A/C and brand new power brake system with Mopar Performance valve covers and air cleaner. There is an imperfection in the front center bumper along with a little chrome pealing, there are also a few imperfections in the paint that I have shown in the photos. As I mentioned before there has been a lot of money spent on this Duster in replacement parts. It also has after market guages, the temp, amp and oil pressure guages are hooked up and work. The speedo and fuel guages are not hooked up as the speedo cable needs an adapter for the transmission and the tank probably needs to come down to hook up the fuel guage. These are minor details that I do not have time to fool with and are quick fixes. I purchased a new front hood scoop and rear spoiler and a complete stripe kit and blacked out the 340 design across the top of the quarters, doors, fenders and hood. This Duster is eye appealling and attracts a lot of attention. I have set the reserve far below the cost of building this car.
